A new video to share...if you love LBI, or want to see more of it, this is a great place to start!

I'm in the planning stages of our summer vacation next year. As you know we've taken a lot of Orlando vacations the last few years, and honestly, this year we'll probably head down once again. There's so much to do down there with multiple amusement parks, waterparks, and tourist friendly activities. Having a choice makes it enjoyable.
I haven't decided if we'll be doing our full trip there though, as we may do like we did last year, and do half our trip in Orlando, and then the other half somewhere else to mix it up.
My son enjoyed last years Orlando, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach jaunt. Either way, we know we'll be starting in Orlando. I have a vacation club, so that makes it easy; we're just not sure what the other piece of our trip will be. A long stay in Orlando, or split it up adding in something like the Keys, or Hilton Head again.
This vacation club is haunting me lately. I could get a hotel in las vegas, or get a condo down in Florida, but the timing just isn't working for me right now. I've got leftover points, and with PubCon going on in Vegas in November, it would seem like a neat thing. I can't justify the plane tickets. Heck, if I'm going to play for tickets, I'm flying to Florida instead.
I've done enough traveling this year. I need to hold off, and yet I have these leftover points. I keep thinking I'm going to cancel it, but it's a hard thing to do when I use it sometimes. I'll probably roll my leftover points until next year and just do one last big yahoo kind of trip with it. I'm just not sure if I want to go south, or if I want to go West or even South West. Luckily, there are a few places. I'm just undecided at this point. I can't wait too long to roll those points, but I keep hanging on for the chance that I'll be able to squeak it in before the year ends.

This is my beautiful friend Alli. We got to hang out in Orlando this past weekend. Izeafest was really a lot of fun. I learned a lot, but seeing some of my friends made it extra special. There was a group I was particularly looking forward to seeing, and my girls Colleen, Cass and Marisa, I'd have the pleasure of meeting before. This was my first time getting to hang out in person with Alli.
Looking forward to next year!
Ted Murphy is a piece of work. I really have enjoyed watching his company Izea progress over the last 2 years. This year I was able to participate in Izeafest, and as the line of speakers grew, I knew this was going to be something special. I signed up early, and before I knew it the time was here.
This past weekend, I traveled from New Jersey down to Orlando, Florida. What an experience this has been. I've learned a lot, and really feel refreshed and am looking at what I'm doing, what I've been doing, and what I want to do differently.
That's the power of a large group of diverse speakers. It helps trigger ideas, helps you grow, and makes you want to be better. Merlin Mann of 43Folders.com was keynote this morning, and I loved what he had to say. He got through to me, and I realized, I want to be better. I want to do better, which I know I can be. Let's face it, I've gotten lazy, because I thought I could. Bad answer...and this weekend came at a good time for me.
LeaLea.net's Lea talked about branding and really touched on a nerve. It was a good thing, because it was exactly what I needed to hear. She struck that right chord with me, because she was so open with information and drew a picture in my mind of what a next step could be.
John Chow, another big name blogger, I was pleased that our team beat his on the scavenger hunt! Ha! Okay, seriously, he was gracious enough to take a picture with us, and for that I thank him. He was on the Big Money Blogger Panel, and I really enjoyed that, along with Neil Patel and a few others.
Loren Feldman spoke to us about video blogging. I'm a fan of his style over at 1938media.com so it was a treat to get to hear him speak in person.
There were so many great speakers, it's hard to mention them all here. What I do know is that I got enough out of this, to know I want to be here next year too.
I met some nice people, I had a lot of fun, and I learned a lot of stuff. By the way, for a non-drinker, I did a few shots this weekend, and oh my gosh! I am so not a drinker! I did an Irish Carboner? Carbomber? Geez, I don't even know what it was, but it was for part of our scavenger hunt, so I jumped in and took one for the team. Eek...it didn't taste too good! Anyway, I wanted to spread the the word that Izeafest put on one hell of an event, and I was thoroughly pleased with the situation. I'll post more information when I get home. I'm sitting at the hotel and it's getting late!
Loved meeting everyone at Izeafest, but a special shout out for David on our scavenger hunt, a totally great guy, and to Ashley, one of the nicest people I met all weekend. Of course, it was great to finallly meet the ever charismatic Ted in person. It was my turn to make him laugh last night when we were talking, and I mentioned that I don't have much dignity left, since I have kids, but also because I have a Jack Russell who sits between my feet while I'm in the bathroom. My dogs stalk me, even in there!! I believe the exact quote would be...and oh my gosh, here I am blogging this..."I can't talk...I have a Jack Russell that sits between my feet when I take a crap!" I'd love to blame alcohol, but sadly I was only drinking Diet Coke... ;)
I'd also like to thank Alli from AlwaysAlli.com for all the great pictures she took at Izeafest, and is letting me share. She was my roomie for Izeafest, and it was a great time to get to hang out with her.
Please don't disturb me....or do that either! We got a kick out of this "Do Not Disturb" sign on our hotel door.
Here was my view from my balcony. I pulled the picture off my camera, so I could get it up here. I love looking out at the ocean! The guy who played music was almost under my balcony, so we just opened the sliding glass door and listened to music as we chilled after a day in the sun.
This is one place I'd happily return to. (Pier 6600 Motel, Wildwood Crest)
Going to Wildwood was a last minute plan. On a late Saturday night I started calling around for a room. The plan was I’d go down with my son Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but it was looking pretty grim when it came to finding a hotel with openings. I finally lucked out and found a 2 room efficiency at a place called Pier 6600 Motel. All I knew was it was at the end of the Crest. That worked for me, as Wildwood Crest is my favorite place in the Wildwoods.
Man, did I luck out! I got a great view of the ocean and pool, and right now I’m listening to live music. ( I typed this out on my laptop. Just loaded it when I got home tonight- we got home at 11pm) They have a guy who comes in and plays guitar from 4-7. After enjoying the boardwalk this afternoon, we’re taking a break from the sun, and will go swimming from around 6 to 8. Tomorrow (Wed), we’ll swim and sun during the day, and do the boardwalk at night. We like to mix it up.
I’m sure I’ll be pink later. I forgot the sunblock for the boardwalk. I’ll regret that later, but it was an honest mistake. We’re usually good about slathering it on, so I’m not too happy I forgot this time.
The only small thing is the lack of internet. Don’t get me wrong, they say they have it, but I get all of maybe 2 bars, and then after you connect, you can’t log into any webpages. It just doesn’t have a strong enough signal. It doesn’t make or break my trip, but don’t say you have internet if you have to stand on your left foot on the balcony, leaning over towards the pool to truly get the signal.
I’m happy we found this place, and they also offer a café, an outside bar and grill, along with an arcade and small gift shop. It’s a nice little family place, and sits right at the beach. This is one I’ll add to my list of hotels for future reference in Wildwood.
I've got a great shot from my balcony on my camera, and hopefully I'll get that uploaded tomorrow to share.

You can read more about the Drifting Sands motel in Long Beach Island here.

We stayed at the Drifting Sands Motel this past week in Long Beach Island. This was my first time staying at this particular hotel/motel. I generally stay in one or two others, but they were fully booked. We liked that the room was large and clean, but were a bit disappointed with what they called a "partial ocean view". I'll be honest, I had to get on my toes, and lean to the left, and I saw about 1-2 inches of ocean. Maybe some of the closer rooms had a better view. I had a great view of the sand dune. It's okay though, I enjoyed sitting on the balcony regardless and enjoying a light breeze. They supplied the deck area with two chairs.
What I liked a lot was the parking was assigned, which means you can actually find a spot, and it's not in the most inconvenient possible. I liked their outdoor shower so you could clean off extra sand before going up to your room. I also liked the location of sort. While it's on the busy circle, it is half way to both ends, which makes driving to either side of the island easy.
What we missed? We missed that there wasn't a pool. We love a pool at the beach. While we swim in the ocean, we also like to swim in the pool. If you have small children, and the waves are rough, the pool is a nice option to have. Usually every time we go down, we swim in both the ocean and the pool each day.
Would I stay at this motel again? Yes, I liked it well enough, but we're partial to another because we've been going to it for so long.
It's time to pack away the women's lingerie. I've got two small trips coming up that were sort of unexpected. I'll be heading to the shore both next week, and the week after that! I hadn't anticipated either trip, but they fell in my lap. I'm never one to turn down beach time!
Next week I'll be hitting up LBI for 2 nights with my son. The following week, I'll be visiting Sea Isle with my sister, niece and mom. I've only ever been to Sea Isle once on a day trip to visit someone. It will be interesting to wander around a bit and see what it's like. We'll be there for 3 nights.
I normally take extra time to visit LBI in September as well, but this year, I have a conference in Orlando during September, and I'll be back in school. I'm going to try to find a way to at least get a weekend down there during maybe late September or early October. September is a fabulous time to enjoy the shore. The crowds have thinned, and the weather is incredible! It's one of my favorite months for the shore.

This is probably one of my favorite pictures taken at Long Beach Island. I went down in April of last year with my sister, and from the balcony of the hotel we were at, I was able to catch this shot. It's splendid, isn't it? It doesn't matter where I roam (and roam I do), there's no other place that can capture me like LBI does.
You see, the thing that's special and hard to put into words is that it's a family place. It's a beautiful island with goregous beaches, and it isn't covered with franchise fast food places. It isn't an entire 20 mile strip of hotels. The hotels aren't famous chains. This is mom and pop, this is small business owners and people who adore the island.
Sure, Wildwood and Ocean City get tons of publicity due to their high volume amusement areas, but let me be honest...they are busy places, and they have a rushed feel to me. It's too much hype, and not enough beach feel.
Long Beach Island has gorgeous beaches, a nice mixture of homes, small business run hotels and motels, along with lots of great little restaurants and shopping places. They aren't the big box stores, they are the adorable little charming places you love to wander through on vacation.
Now that you know what I love about Long Beach Island, let me tell you about the Long Beach Island Business Alliance. They are about getting the word out, letting the world know what a wonderful place this is. Long Beach Island still has a small town feel, and is a FAMILY friendly destination. I should know, I've been going for over 40 years now!
Long Beach Island Business Alliance wants you to know how great LBI is, and is actively promoting it so that more people will hear and spread the news. It's a great place that is often overlooked for the other busier places. Who wants busier when you're on vacation? I don't know about you, but I want to feel like I'm at the beach and relax!
If you visit their website at NJLBI.com, you can check out all the great things you can see and do.
Their Mission Statement is as follows:
"The Mission of the Long Beach Island Business Alliance is to actively promote Long Beach Island, NJ. Our goal is to advance the long term interests of tourism and business of Long Beach Island, NJ in a consumer friendly small town atmosphere."
As you know, I'm passionate about the place, and created my own website so that LBI would be represented through my eyes also. You can visit my Long Beach Island website at LongBeachIslandSummers.com.

Myrtle Beach had a massive tourist t-shirt shop on every other corner, and 20 miles of crowded franchises. I have to be honest and say I probably wouldn't return there. While the actual resort I stayed at we enjoyed, the town itself felt too touristy to me, and I almost didn't feel like we were on a beach vacation.
I've grown used to these Jersey beaches that I love. Maybe another section of Myrtle Beach would have felt more beachy to me, but honestly, any time we left the resort, we felt like we were on Business Route 1! Wall to wall traffic inching here and there, and it just took the wind out of your mellow vacation mode.
I'm glad I took the time to go there, and see something new. I'm glad I got the chance to visit and shop at some of their unique locations like Barefoot Landing and Broadway at the Beach, but it will probably be the last time for this girl.
Long Beach Island has my heart, and in all my years, it still wins me over after seeing other places...each and every time.

I've been to Baltimore Harbor's aquarium before, and I loved that one.
At Ripley's, while the tunnel was cool, the rest of the aquarium just didn't fill the bill. The frog and lizard section were two small tanks. One tiny one with 2 small frogs in in, and another with 3 iguanas in it. That's all! Two small tanks, and they list it on their map as a big section! You could say we were disappointed in that section as well as the living seas part. There were FOUR tanks, three about 3 feet wide, one maybe 5 feet. An octopus was in one, jelly fish in one, sea horses/sea dragons in one, and the last had a combination. The section was about the size of my living room.
I understand that the big tunnel is their main thing, but they put so much effort into that, the rest of the aquarium feels like it's missing something. One section walking down the ramp was one tank. It ran about 10 feet long, but they called that an individual section.
On the guide book/map they show lots of sections. In reality, some sections are TINY! You need to LINGER in there, because if you don't, you'll be out quite quickly.
If you've never been to an aquarium before, it's a nice start. If you've been to a well done aquarium, you'll want to skip this, because you may feel like it's lacking.
$40 for the two of us, and we were out in about 30 minutes. We kept looking at the map going, there HAS to be more...but there wasn't. We did laugh all day about the two small tanks in the frog/lizard section that "rated" it's own section. At least the laughter from that was entertaining, so it added to our dollar value. Oh, and by the way, the guide and map book, which you should get with your tickets will cost you an extra buck.
Over all, it's a neat place, but you need to G-O S-L-O-W to make it last.

Gorgeous place, and I'd happily stay here again. For reference, we've stayed at Cypress Pointe as well, but I'd choose this one over the other. Cypress Pointe feels a little roomier inside the way the kitchen and living area are set up, but Grand Beach feels like it's more upgraded. We had oodles of space for the two of us anyway.
If you follow along, you see that I travel a lot. I used to write to a travel blog, but decided to just write about my traveling on this blog. I guess I'm trying to condense my blogs, because I have quite a few! What can I say, I get excited at starting projects. I did keep it active for over a year, the travel blog, but I think this is the best place for it now.
My last trip was down to Florida in April. I'll also be traveling in June, July and September of this year. June will bring us to a local shoreline, where July will see us traveling farther including South Carolina and Florida. September is a shorter trip, but one I'm looking forward to just as much.
When it comes to traveling, I do have high standards. I don't need to be constantly active, but I want to stay somewhere nice. I'm in my 40's now, and I'm done with cheap motels on a budget. At this point in my life, if I'm going to travel, I'm going to do it right. Whether that means luxury vacations, or a nice hotel, or better accomodations while on the train.
There comes a point in life, where you go, now it's time to do things right. I did the bargain bin trips for years, scrimping and saving, but now that I'm able to, I'm going to do things the way I have wanted to. If not now, when?

I'm so thrilled to hear that the IzeaFest will be in Orlando this year. The coolest part of this, is I was all ready scheduled to be in that area of Florida when they're having it. I don't need to book reservations or anything. It falls perfectly into my plans I made a few months ago for a trip we're taking! How cool is that? That's awesome timing.
I can't wait to see my friends down there. It's going to be so nice to visit with so amny people all at once. I got the chance to see some of my friends last year, but it's been awhile, so I'm looking forward to this.
Gotta love good timing.
I had just mentioned I was working on a couple fo websites. One of them is about my beloved Long Beach Island! That's right, I decided to take on the town, and build a website. I'm truly passionate about the area, and wanted to share that with people.
Long Beach Island Summers is a resource guide for all things Long Beach Island. So if you love LBI, or are looking to check it out, be sure to drop by my site.
I've had such the itch for a spring fling. I'm so ready for spring to break through, and I keep checking vacation deals for a quick trip to Florida or somewhere tropical and warm. Let me be honest, quite frankly, it's not responsible of me, since I have 3 trips planned this year all ready. It's just that the cold weather has given me a cabin fever like I haven't experienced before. All I can think about it hopping on a plane and heading south for a few days.
With trips planned through the summer, I have plenty of schedule going on, and my budget is yelling at me that another trip isn't what I need. It's just that I keep finding great deals! I'll let you know if my sister and I sneak off for a little while.
We headed down to LBI yesterday for a ride, lunch and a leisurely afternoon. I took this yesterday, along with some others. While it was quiet, winter is not as dead as it used to be. Yesterday there seemed to be a lot of activity at the real estate offices. I guess people are looking for summer rentals, and buying homes. There were tons of open house signs all over.
We stopped and had lunch at Buckalews, then made the ride back. I love driving to the shore when it's not mobbed with people. Open roads, the sun shining and good music on the radio, made for a great day.
I'll be all over the east coast this summer and fall! We'll be down the shore in June here in Jersey, along with a couple trips south. I'll be hitting Florida, along with South Carolina in July, so I'll be driving up through Georgia as well. We're taking the auto train down. By the way if you're looking for Georgia land for sale, check out LandFlip.com.
In September we'll be driving to Florida, so we'll be passing through a bunch of states. I love to travel, so I'm excited by the road trips, along with exploring Myrtle Beach, which I haven't been to before. One of our stopovers is in Hilton Head, so that's another new area to explore!
I was looking at Las Vegas hotels recently, while I was checking out vacation plans for the year. It's just not going to happen this September, because our other plans overlap again, just like last year. Last year, I had hoped to go to the Blog World Expo, but becasue I was due in Florida the following week, I couldn't book back to back trips.
It would appear once again, I'll be in Florida in September, only this week prior to Blog World Expo. I decided to use our vacation club down there again. Don't get me wrong, I would be happy to use it out in Vegas as well, but we've decided to drive, so the East Coast works a little better for us, since it's half the distance as driving to Vegas.
This year, I'll be heading to the Jersey shore early in the season, heading to South Carolina with my son, and also heading to Orlando with my husband in September. I have a full season planned, and I'm looking forward to hitting the road again. I'd love to sneak away in the winter months, since I hate the cold so much, but I just can't swing it right now.
I have a couple of trips planned this year. One of the things I need to find out about is if I fly, and I have a laptop bag, does that become my one carry on. I guess it does, so I have to remember that. I know I'm not checking that bag if I fly, but what else can I fit in it? Also does your purse count as a carry on, or you can have a carry on and a purse?
My husband has a Swiss Army laptop bag I got him for a gift which is more traditional in shape, but I have a backpack laptop bag. I think I could fit more stuff in there. I haven't flown in awhile, and I guess figuring out stuff like this will be helpful.
I've been putting off flying, but told my husband I wanted to fly this year. I may do a long weekend down in Florida while it's still cold up here. I guess I could leave my laptop at home, which I do on some vacations, but I've been working on a writing project lately, and I'd probably want to bring it along with me.
When it comes to luggage, I've got a nice rolling bag that I can check in. I'd like to update my son's luggage this year also I think. I've been using a nylon duffle bag of sort, but I love the Dockers luggage, and the Swiss Army luggage, along wtih some of the other sturdy styles I've seen. We're doing South Carolina in the summer, so I have time to replace his still. I'd like one that rolls behind, like I have. I have a cheaper second one, but would like to upgrade his to a sturdier bag.

Colleen is going somewhere awesome! I can't tell you where, but I can give you a clue. In fact there are a bunch of clues floating around out there. If you guess correctly, you have a shot at winning a prize. Let me just say up front, Colleen's prizes are good ones, so you'll want to get involved! Here's some of the things you can win:
The prizes:
1st Prize - a $50 Travelocity Gift Card, and a souvenir from my trip!
2nd Prize - a $25 Travelocity Gift Card, and a souvenir from my trip!
3rd, 4th, and 5th Prize - a souvenir from my trip!
I happen to have clue #11 right here for you:
The people who inhabit the country Colleen is visiting invented gin and brandy.
If you need help finding the other clues, you can go here to find them all. Now, don't be putting your guesses in her comments, be sure to read the rules and do it the proper way. She has the full list of rules on that same post, so read them, enter properly, and you just may win something fabulous!
Side note: Let me also point out, if you followed that first link and saw the picture of the two of us together while I was in Florida...oh my gosh! I am losing weight! It's hard for me to "see it", since I see myself every day, but looking back at a picture taking around Thanksgiving two months ago, I can see it now! Woohoo
Also, this is the same Colleen I'll be walking in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. You can help us both out by donating to our team! If you'd like to help us reach our goals, keep on reading and check out the post below this one for all of the details.

"So anyway...."
It's a chatty Monday in my brain today. The funny thing is, I don't feel like picking up the phone and chatting on the phone, so I'll just let my fingers do the talking today.
About a week ago, I'd mentioned that we were looking at keeping our vacation club, or possibly letting it go. We decided to keep it, and when I realized the large network we were a part of, I was open to all sorts of new options.
My problem came in when I actually tried to book reservations! I have now tried to book 22 different reservations, which are all full. That's crazy! I tried booking a bunch of them 6 months ahead, and a few more 8-10 months ahead. It doesn't look like it's going to work well through the extended network. Through our own company, I can find answers, but they aren't the answers I want right now.
For example, I can't get into the Keys in Florida, but I can get into Hawaii. Great, fabulous, but hello, airfare to Hawaii is astronomical! I can get into Vegas, but only a 1 bedroom, as opposed to a 3 bedroom in Orlando, based on the points.
I've been fiddling around with this thing for the last few days, and I'm pretty frustrated right now. I ended up having to purchase a separate vacation for summer, and now I have this pending. I'm not sure if I'm going to do something in the fall iwth my husband, or what I'm doing at this point.
It's paid for in full, so it's just waiting for me to book something. The problem is, what I want, and what I can get are two different things! Don't get me wrong, I can book Orlando again, but I've been there 4 times in the last 2 years. Love it, but was hoping to go a few other places.
Maybe we'll toss Sedona back into the mix again, we'll see. We loved it out there, but we were really looking more towards the east coast so travel is a bit easier.
I guess time will tell. As for now, my son and I are booked to enjoy North Myrtle Beach in South Carolina this summer. Only I had to pay for that, because through the vacation club it was booked! Stupid thing....
I'm dangling on a thread.
I have to make a decision in the next 5 days on something that's costly. The problem is, I'm back and forth on what I want to do. Overall, it's a good value to keep something, but on the other hand, the maintenance is costly. The question becomes, do I put the extra money out and keep it up, when I may not use it all that much? Or do I lose a large investment that my parents put in?
We're sitting on this trying to decide and it's a huge decision to come to.
We're part of a vacation club that had a big investment initially, but the yearly upkeep has almost doubled! Decisions, decisions...oh yeah, and I have until December 31st to decide. :\
I spent part of yesterday looking at vacation homes and ideas. I'm almost ready to book a vacation for the summer. I can't wait until we're packing up the Samsonite and heading out for relaxation. My husband's schedule will be changing for the summer, so I'm looking forward to some extra time with him.
Speaking of packing up the luggage, you should see when we pack. He packs twice as much stuff as I do! It cracks me up, because I'll have one bag and an overnight bag, and he'll end up with three. I'm like what are you bringing? I think he doesn't pack them as full as I do is all!
If you need some new luggage, check out LuggageUniverse.com.
I was talking to my son about vacations yesterday. I asked him if he had some input for future vacations. Did he have an interest in horseback riding, whitewater rafting, amusement parks or something of that nature? His answers are always the same, Hawaii and Disney. We've done Disney multiple times now, and I'd like to do something else. I told him to save up for Hawaii, and when he was older he could go back!
It looks like we'll be doing Tennessee and the shore this year, but it's still not written in stone. My mom always loved cruises, though I've not taken one yet. There are cruises that go for a few days, and then you can stay at an island for a few days. If I was going to take a cruise, I'd want to hit a tropical island. My aunt did an Alaskan cruise, but that just doesn't appeal to me. I'm still up in the air on where we'll be heading next, but I'm always up for ideas, so feel free to leave me one in the comments! My son will be 14 next time we vacation, in case you have ideas.
Disney Quest is a 5 floor building full of arcade games, air hockey, pinball, virtual reality games and rides. We paid a little over $70 for two people, and had access from 11:30am to 11pm that day. It's on the Walt Disney World property in the Downtown Disney West area, on the other side of Pleasure Island.
I liked that you culd come and go, as long as you had your ticket. They also have food choices and dessert options so you can grab a snack, meal or soda through out the day.
We spent 4 hours there earlier in the day, then left, took a break and went back in the evening.
One of the coolest things there is their Cyber Space Mountain coaster. You design a rollercoaster with the help of a computer and Bill Nye the Science Guy guiding you, and then the best part is climbing in a simulator and riding the rollercoaster you just made. There's no additional cost do do this, as it's part of the admission price. It took us 5 minutes to make a coaster, and about 20 minutes in line to get to ride it. After you ride it, you have the option to buy a DVD of it, showing you riding it, and your coaster for $12.95.
We had a blast, and also played a virtual pinball game where you were on a machine and had to shift your body to move your ball. A Jungle Cruise virtual reality game had you paddling, and gave me a work-out! You can also fly virtual magic carpets, but we didn't like the helmets that came down over your face, so we opted out of other vitual things that required that face mask and helmet.
We had fun playing favorites like Artic Thunder, Daytona Racing and for me pinball, while my son enjoyed Donkey Kong and other classics.
It felt pricey paying for the tickets at first, but it was a full day of entertainment, no doubt.
I think the best part of the day was calling home from Florida in mid 70 temperature, and hearing it was snowing in New Jersey! ;)

Here's another shot of Caribbean Beach resort at Disney. This is as we were about to cross the footbridge back to our Jamaica section. Notice the lush greenery on the site? It's all over like this, and it really adds to the feel of the resort. The footbridge goes over a small lake, whicn you can't see in the picture. We're just leaving the little island (cay) which you cross after the bridge to get to the other side with the stores and food court.
Look what I brought with me on vacation! It's Febreeze To Go! I love that it's travel sized, because I'm a huge Febreeze fan. I used it in the train on the seats to freshen up the room, and on the bedspreads at the hotel we stayed at!
Yeah for travel sized products! I've been traveling quite a bit, and this was a great take-along this time. You know how hotel rooms are just, well, hotel rooms. With a spritz or two of Febreeze, it was fresher!
What's cool is now that I have it, I can just refill it as needed with my large refill bottle. We have Febreeze all over this house! With two dogs and a cat, it's a must.

I love this place. WinterSummerland Golf in Disney is such a fun miniature golf course. There are actually two, one side has a beachy and summer theme, while the other has snow and such. You'll see a giant sand castle on one side, while the other course has the same version of a snow castle. This is hole #2, just to show you how bright and fun it is! On #4 watch out for the fish that shoots water at you as you cross the little footbridge!
By the way, the blue part is the "green".
We played both on Saturday and Sunday. If you go back the next day, you get to play at 1/2 price. It was a nice bonus, since it's a little pricey to play. It runs about $10.75 or something for adults. They have music piped through as well.
On the 5th hole, we had something really cool happen. I looked down, and I swore I saw a tiny frog. He was no bigger than my thumb nail. Of course, I'm 40 and my eyes can play tricks on me, so I called my son over and asked if that was a frog? Sure enough it was! It was the tiniest frog I'd ever seen. He nudged it off to the side so he didn't get stepped on. He took a picture of it next to a golf ball, and it shows you how tiny it is! That's on his cell phone though, so I don't have it.
We love the landscaping, the silly snoring Santa, the fun, bright colors, and we are downright competitive at mini golf! I won the first day, my son won the second.
This is located on the Walt Disney World property, but you don't have to stay at a Disney resort to play the mini golf course.
I lost some of the clarity when I changed the size, so I apologize it's not a sharper image.
This is a picture of where we stayed in Disney. We chose the Caribbean Beach resort again this year. We stayed here last year as well, and enjoyed it so much, we went back. It offers 6 pools, one giant theme pool, and 5 pools for each "village" or section. I like to stay in Jamaica so that we can walk across the little footbridge and the small cay to get to the other side. I find it charming to walk through that area.
There's lots of lush landscaping as well which gives it a nice feel. At the top of the stairs one night, I was greeted by a tree frog! He jumped off the tree and was on the side of the building! Then another, and then a third frog! Three frogs were on the side of the building all together. I snapped a picture, but it's a little dark. I'll try to put it up later for you.
We also saw 2 rabbits, some squirrels, and lots of salamanders at the resort too! We love this place. At Port Royale there's a food court, a store, the themed pool area and an arcade.
If I return to Disney, I would love to go back here, but they have so many nice places, I'd also like to stay at others to try more of them out.
If you like a Caribbean flair, than you'd get a kick out of this resort. The steel drums and music playing at Port Royale tops it all off with a great feel. At the small lake in the resort you can also rent watercraft vehicles. This is considered a moderate resort at Disney World. They offer ranges of value hotels, moderate and deluxe.
They also offer transportation to all the resorts and Downtown Disney area if you don't have a car with you. It's a great value for families.

One of the neat things I got to do while in Florida was to have dinner with my friend Colleen. I missed the Vegas get together since I was doing Disney with my son the following week, so I was tickled that we could work out dinner plans. Other than that, the week was all about Disney and hanging out with my son.
I met Colleen (Simple Kind of Life) online a little over a year ago. I'll be walking with her in NYC for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer as well. The picture came out really dark, so with lots of editing, this was the result. I only had my cellphone handy...for the picture.
Colleen was there with her three children, and I had my son there as well. Children speak tons about their parents, and her children were so pleasant and polite, and that alone said so much to me. It's awkward to hang out wtih other kids you don't know, but they made do....so with that said, you can imagine how horrified I was when my son mentioned he was leanring the female reproductive system. We weren't exactly sure the rest of the conversation, but those words were enough! Yikes, I wanted to slide to the floor in embarrassment, but it turned out being okay, as he was just mentioning topics he was learning in the 8th grade. When kids are teens, all bets are off! LOL
Anyway, Colleen herself is really nice and just so much prettier in person. Her pictures show she's attractive, but what they don't show you is her warmth. She radiates warmth and comfort and joy. Online, I see her outgoing personality, at times bold, and other times sassy and fun, but I got to see her son climb into her lap, and seeing her mother her son, I just gained such a different respect. Computers take that away from us at times. We see pieces of a person, and she's so well rounded and her interaction with her children just really left me with a warm feeling inside.
She thought she might have to pull conversation out of me, and yet, I'm a chatter box. It doesn't come across online, and I can seem serious at times. I'm actually young at heart, silly and laugh a lot. Computers create those outlines of us, but our full personality is there in person.
Colleen is so genuine and sweet, I ended up liking her even more than I all ready did. She's an all around great girl, and her hubby got the "whole package"...looks, personality and charm.
I really enjoyed the experience, and hope she enjoyed it as well. I'm glad it worked out, because it's added another dimension of who Colleen is to me. She's warm, caring, sweet and fun.
I'm home! I came back to the shocking reality that it's only 40+ degrees in NJ today! We were in shorts and tank tops all week in 70's and 80's, swimming twice! Sigh...I'm just not a winter girl.
It always feels nice to be home, but I'm aching to stroll about or drive with the windows down and feel the fresh air again!
I'll fill you in along with adding some pictures a little later.
I also got the chance to meet my friend Colleen, so I'm looking forward to sharing that with you as well.

Will you miss me while I'm gone? I'm going to be leaving for Disney tomorrow. We're taking a leisurely route, but we'll get there in time for enough fun. I tossed around the idea of taking my laptop, but one of the things I get out of traveling is time away from my computer.
I'm at my desk all day long, and traveling, I read a lot, I unwind a lot, and I leave the techie stuff behind. It's good for me, I'm way too attached!
I'll be home a little after Thanksgiving, so I'll look forward to sharing the details when I get back.
Cheers!
Don't forget you can also donate to my Avon Walk for Breast Cancer (NYC next year) while I'm gone. On my sidebar you can see a link to my donor page. Walking to make a difference, need to raise $1,800. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.
See you on the flip side!
I'm sitting here at my desk. I should be packing.
I'm still sitting here at my desk. I should be packing. You get the general idea, huh?
I've got to pack my son's luggage, along with mine. I did the laundry yesterday, so at least that's all done. I should be packing, and I'll still be sitting here at my desk later. I just can't talk myself into it right now.
Obviously it will get done. The real question becomes when? And why must I do this to myself?

This picture has been on my cellphone since February! I took it at Sea World, when I visited with my husband. Guess what I learned how to do this week? I learned how to send it to Flickr! I'm so excited because I'd like to send a few pictures from Disney, when I head there shortly!
I'm learning new things everyday. I'm twittering a bit, I'm going to Flickr more, and I may even tweet from my cell phone once or twice. I'm no texting queen, so it takes me awhile just to type a sentence of sort!
Either way, I wanted to share my pic here with you! I loved the underground section where you could stand and watch the dolphins go by. It was really nice. I also loved feeding the stingrays...it freaked me out, but it was so cool at the same time!
Last year, I was so organized when it came time to travel. I'm talking I was PREPARED with a capital P. I had every itty, bitty thing you'd ever need, orgazined, packed and ready.
This year, I've waited until the morning I leave one too many times, and last time I hit the shore in September, I'd seriously forgotten some of the clothing I planned to take! I have no idea what changed this past few months. I've been traveling a lot the last two years, and I've gotten pretty good at packing quickly, but I think my brain went out the window last trip, because I did a terrible job! Oops, forgot it...yeah, forgot that too.
I head to Disney in November, and this time I'll be prepared. I'll make sure our digital cameras are packed, sunblock, bathing suits and more. Usually I make a list, and of late, that's stopped. I think it's time to make a list again! I don't want to end up spending our spending money on things like sun glasses, aloe and sunblock!
There seems to be a lot of RV's and campers on the road in September and October. I'm guessing it's because the weather is so nice during this time, that it makes traveling and camping out a delight. We used to have a pop-up camper years ago, but because I was living in a townhome community at the time, we had to park it out on the main drive. A car ended up plowing into it, and there it was, all squished up and our camping gear was everywhere. We ended up replacing that pop-up for another one, but then eventually sold it.
I guess as I've gotten older, I've become more of a hotel girl than a camping girl. Getting older, the idea of sleeping on the ground, or even getting up from the ground after sleeping doesn't enthuse me. I'd need one of those mondo Big Daddy G type of campers with all the bells and whistles. Since that's not in my budget, I'll just meet you there and book a hotel room!
My friends are going to Vegas in November, while I'll be heading to Florida. I had hoped to join them for a conference, but my plans went in another direction. It was so hard to hear everyone getting excited and looking at the different Las Vegas Hotels available, because it made me want to go even more!
My son and I are doing Disney right about the same time my friends will be in Las Vegas. I actually thought of trying to swing doing both. I was even looking at some of the Las Vegas Hotels, and liked that there were not only the traditional strip hotels, but an Embassy Suites and Hilton, which I like to frequent.
I've heard great things about the Bellagio and the Venetian, so I think they are on the top of my list of Las Vegas Hotels, but I'd like to keep MGM and a few others in mind as well. We were just talking today about doing a Arizona and Vegas type of trip in the future. We had pegged 2008 as our year for Vegas, but we may push it back one more year.
Here's Old Barney at Barnegat Light...
...and here's Dairy Queen next to it. That's the part we visit, hence my trainer! The Kelly's sig is on top, but look just a little lower and you'll recognize the DQ symbol! LOL
Here's another one of the small businesses in Long Beach Island. Go by in the height of season, and it's mobbed. It's tiny inside, with maybe 3 booths, and a counter to order finger food or ice cream. They used to have a pink car outside they adveritsed on...I think it was a little Escort Wagon. Anyway, it's another piece of the island that is there every time we visit.
I've only grabbed something here once a year ago, so I'm not familiar with most of their offerings, but I always loving seeing it as we drive by.
I go to Panzones for pizza. We had a great "dog" at Dom's last year too, which is right down the road.
It's no Caesars Palace, but it holds its own charm!
Do you remember when LBI was blue collar homes? Little Cape Cods and simple two story duplexes? Hmmm, somethings different...I wonder what it could be?
Now they knock the older homes down to build these. This is why I won't be able to retire down the shore. It's too much money. This is what dots the island now. House, after house, after house...and I ask my husband..."What are people doing to be able to afford this as a VACATION home?"
Anyway, I love that it's staying nice, and it's not run down...but here's one piece of that. This is what the typical beach house looks like today in Long Beach Island. Right now it's about 50/50 of the older homes, and these newer homes.

On Saturday they were open, on Sunday they were closed with a sign that said Last Week, Thx. A lot of places were closing up for the season, and will reopen once again come spring. This little ice cream place in Peahala Park, which is in the middle of LBI holds fond memories for me.
I grew up taking family vacations in Beach Haven, right down the road from the Acme. It was 95th Street, and Skipper Dipper sits on 94th or 93rd. I can't rememeber exactly how many streets over it was. I can remember when it opened though.
I've been going to LBI and learned to walk down there. That puts me visiting this great island for 40 years now! I was a kid, and across the street from there, next to the movie theater, there was a little miniature golf place, where the water tower stands now. I know, because we used to walk down and play golf and maybe see a movie at night. Then a magical thing happened one year, and the ice cream place opened. We had another fun place to walk to at night. I'm sure the pharmacist was happy to know that. Where the Acme stands, there used to be a little drugstore attached to it, and phone booths at the section of concrete between the two. Do you remember the pharmacy? We used to walk down and get comic books and candy bars as children. We walked down to that pharmacy every day, if not more than that. The little post office closed too, but the hotel across from the Acme is still there. It has new owners, and they took the pool out, but mostly things stay similar.
Every time I pass the Skipper Dipper, it brings me back to my childhood. It reminds me of a time when kids could walk and get an ice cream cone without parents panicking their kids were outside for a few minutes without being watched like a hawk. It reminds me of a different feeling of safe, and it reminds me of many summer nights growing up and visiting Long Beach Island. I'm glad it's still there.
I've been traveling a lot these last two years, but one thing I haven't done yet is gone overseas. My grandmother went to England to see some of the castles years ago, and brought back pictures and stories of the massive and old magnificent buildings.
I saw this one picture of a castle, and it reminded me of a regal place. I wasn't sure what it was until I did a little research on the topic. It turns out it was the Heidelberg Castle which is in Germany. It stands atop of this this hill, and the ruins were amazing to look at. I can't even imagine how incredible it must have been in it's period. The more I looked into Germany, the more I saw some really neat architecture, and the thing is, I'm not really into achitecture, but some of it is truly breathtaking. There was this one castle in the Alps, King Ludwig ll's castle that was incredible. I never though much about castles, living in United States. It just made me realize how much history exists that I'm just not familiar with. There are so many different regions of Germany to discover. You can find Hotels in Berlin here, or you can find places to stay in many other areas. What's cool is you get to decide between hotels, bed and breakfasts or castle stays!
Take Austria for example, I think of it as a country, but did you know they have 9 indendent states? I was totally unaware of that fact. I don't think of other countries having states. It makes me sad to realize how little I know about other countries. I need to brush up on my information. Seriously, did you know that Austria was settled in the Paleolithic Age? It just boggles my mind, that I went all my life thinking the world didn't really function so much before my grandparent's time. It's not that I didn't know, I just never really thought about it. The more I think about it, the more it astounds me. If you're looking for Hotels in Vienna, check here first.
I was over on a language page tonight, and I was reading about the different versions of German spoken. There is something called High German and Low German. It was pretty neat to compare the different versions, as they gave you examples of the differences in the language. Similar, but different was how I would describe it. In Germany, they speak Low German, where as in Austria they speak High German.
Whether you're looking for Hotels in Vienna, Hotels in Berlin, Castles in Germany, theme hotels in Austria or campgrounds, you'll be able to find something that suits your style!
I have lots of pictures to share this week from our trip to the shore. It was an incredible trip that left us completely relaxed and ready for anything. We spent lots of time swimming, even more sitting on the beach, we walked almost daily, so I even got my exercise in that way. When all was said and done, I took in 6 solid hours of exercise on a 4 day trip, so my trainer should be pleased I stayed active along with getting my relaxing time in.
I decided to take pictures of little extra things, rather than the standard ocean/beach shots that are the standard fair. Stay tuned for some scenes of LBI this week!
My son went to Hawaii about a year and a half ago, and since then he's been trying to get me to go. Yes, my 13 year old doesn't mind if I pay! LOL
Anyway, I have flying issues, which I didn't used to have, so we got to talking, and it was more about the experience. It was the palm trees, the clear water and the gorgeous scenery. I started looking at caribbean cruises and the resorts a little closer to the east coast. In fact, when we went to Disney last year, I took him to the Caribbean Beach resort, and he loved it.
I don't think I'm getting on a plane to Hawaii anytime soon, but maybe I'll end up somewhere closer. I would love to have the Caribbean experience too. My husband isn't as interested in those areas, so it's somethig my son and I would do together. He's my travel buddy!
So, my son keeps hinting, and not with subtle grace for Hawaii next vacation. He wants me to pay.
How nice of him. Anyway, he's been itching to go back after his last visit there. I tried to explain to him, going to Hawaii isn't like going to the Jersey shore. There's a little bit of a difference in price. I'm 40, and I haven't been to Hawaii yet. He's 13, and he's been there and wants to go a second time! I told him when he turned 18, he could save his money and he could go as often as he wanted. I even offered to find him Hawaii Vacation Rentals.
Actually, I was over at Gebhart Properties, and honestly, if I could get msyelf on a plane, I'd go to Hawaii. I'm just not good at flying right now. I really would love to see the water in Hawaii. It's supposed to be crystal clear, and I'm sure it would be an amazing site for someone who has never seen water like that. Maybe I'll get there eventually. I keep going back to GebhartProperties.com and looking at their rentals, but when it comes down to it, it's the flight stopping me.
I was talking to my aunt today. She was mentioning I may want to look into annual passes for Disney if I'm planning on going again in the next year. It helps save money that way. The thing is, I never really plan on going back each time, and it just sort of happens! I may have to look into it.
We're going in November now, and one of the things I need to finally figure out is if we're going to need SeaWorld Tickets or not. I think I want to go there this next time, but my son is still up in the air about it. I'll ultimately make the decision, but we can't decide if we want to go to the park that day, or take a day to hang out, go golfing, swimming and the other types of activities that they offer. Taking a down day, might be more relaxing, but I do love Sea World. If I do go, I'll be buying my tickets from OrlandoFunTickets.com. They have great prices and tickets to all the attractions in Orlando.
I'm not sure if I mentioned the deli counter wait when we were down the shore or not. When we went to LBI in June, it was about 3 people thick at the deli counter the day we went grocery shopping. It was like happy hour for cheese or something! Anyway, a cool service I read about after I got back home, and a pamphlet I'm saving for next year is all about grocery delivery!
ShoreGrocer.com offers grocery delivery on Long Beach Island. You can place your order on their site, and then JP Grocers brings them to your beach rental the day you arrive. One less chore to do, and one less thing the kids will be complaining about.
I think it's an excellent idea. I was just cleaning my desk, and the little pamphlet got buried. I had wanted to write about it earlier, but it slipped my mind, then when I saw it again, I knew I had to mention this!
A great big thumbs up for this handy service, from an LBI vacationer! I can't wait to use it next year.
This was taken on our last visit to Walt Disney World. You can find this at MGM Studios. I went in February with my husband this year, and this week I just booked a trip with my son for November. We're excited and looking forward to return. This will be the third time my son and I have gone to Orlando together, and we're always looking for some interesting things to do.
I just learned about RealTravel.com, a site that offers a travel blog, travel guides and a planner, and decided to check out their section on Orlando, Florida. I can check reviews of hotels, restaurants, attractions and more.
I was reading a review of Wilderness Lodge. We've stayed on site before, but I like to check out all the hotels. You can read about this hotel and others on the website. Dont' forget to check out the travel blog too. What I'm really looking forward to going through though are the restaurant reviews. One of our favorites closed last year, so we're looking for a new favorite place to eat. Three restaurants were rated four stars, so they are definitely going on my list to check out.
I also ended up learning about a site I'd never heard of! Cool stuff on their site, from people who have been there with reviews. Those are the kind of things I want to see, a travel blog, travel guide, and planner reviews from people who've experience things.
Where are you going?
I just got a delivery. It was tickets for my transportation! I only ordered them yesterday, but wow, that was super lightning speed fast. My son goes, "They got here all ready?!"
Yeah, that's how I felt. When something is going to be mailed to you, but it doesn't say it's being "overnighted", I don't expect to see it right away.
How exciting!!!!!

We booked our trip! It's official, we'll be heading to Disney in November this year. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the warm Florida sun when it's getting cooler here.
My son and I had some specific things we wanted to do, and decided not to do one or two things we had thought about. Now that we hammered out all the details, I was able to nail down the dates, the things we want to do, and where we wanted to stay this trip.
I've done a lot of Disney traveling the last year and a half, but this 4th trip may be my final trip for a while. I know, I know, I've said that before, but a break will make it special again when we do go back.
Either way, this is how I feel...Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
It's time to get the luggage ready. I'm booking Disney this week. We'll be heading down in November. I'm excited, because I'm going to do it with my son this week. He knows there's a slight chance we may do Disney this year, but probably next year. Well guess what baby? We're booking it this week, and I'm going to let him in on the little secret! I've finally got all the details that I wanted to figure out taken care of.
I'm booking some early fall beach time with my hubby too this week, so I'll be in travel thought mode all week!
Last year when we went to Wildwood, one of the things we noticed was a lot of the hotels were turning into Condo Hotels. It seems to be the trend down there, as well as a lot of other places. It's weird, you can still book it like a hotel, but the rooms are individually owned. I think it was the El Coronado that was like that last year. This year's hotel was more of a traditional hotel.
Have you noticed that trend in the areas you vacation? I know that down Long Beach Island, our regular place to visit, they haven't switched to condo hotels yet at our regular places.
Coming home from the shore, we were packed to the bring. I needed a van rack or something. I actually don't have full roof racks on top of my truck, but seudo looking racks! I guess it's back to the drawing board. Maybe it's just time for me to pack lighter!
My son actually won some prizes on the boardwalk which took up some extra space, but he was delighted, so it was worth being packed in the car for the drive home. I'm about to post some pictures shortly from my trip, so stay tuned.
This year we stayed at the Nassau Inn while in Wildwood. You can read my review of Nassau Inn here. Each year, we've been staying in a different hotel to find one that's our favorite. While all of the hotels we've stayed at yet are fine, nothing has said, THIS is the hotel we're going to from now on.
Last year we stayed at the El Coronada, and the year before the Ala Moana. That one was a few blocks back, because we booked at the last minute. I prefer to go ocean front. I tried to book at the Reges, but they were fully booked by the time I called.
We've enjoyed comparing different hotels as we go, and still haven't found "The One" yet.
LBI is another story, we know which hotels we like the most. Wildwood, there are so many to choose from, so I'm still getting through them. I prefer an ocean front PRIVATE BALCONY, and I want a nice pool and game room on site. Add a restaurant and you may get my attention. I want easy beach access, enough parking to go around, and I don't want to feel like I'm in a dated room. The hotels may be old, but the rooms can be fresh.
My husband and I were talking about some different places that we'd like to visit. He had mentioned Graceland, and I never really thought of it. I enjoyed Elvis music, but I don't feel the need to see his old house. It's amazing how many people visit there reguarly. Their about to update it some on the inside. I would like to go to Tennessee though and visit Nashville and maybe a few other places. I wouldn't have a problem stopping by Graceland while in Tennessee, but it's not my first choice.
Then we mentioned Vegas, which we were thinking of doing in 2008, Maine which I havne't been to since I was 12, and Branson. I didn't realize how much that area had grown. I did a post on them on my travel blog, and there were some really beautiful cabins and a lot of great family activities there. Branson has grown!

My son has been asking about Disney over and over. I keep telling him we're probably going to make it back next year, but not this year. Smiling...it's hard to keep a secret, but we're going this year in November. I'm not telling him until it's a little closer. I've had to bite my tongue multiple times this week alone, because it's come up at least on three separate occassions. I told him to stop asking, because it probably won't be until next year. (snickers)
Man, oh man....I am not a good secret keeper about this kind of stuff when I'm excited. I haven't booked it yet, but I'll be doing it soon. I know that, and usually I share all the details...but not this time. I'm still at the point of choosing the private rental house with the pool in the back, or the on-site hotel. They'll both be awesome, but I'm just undecided at this moment. Either way, shhhh, he doesn't know.

Some friends and I were just talking about how we've changed over the years, and the looking at my wedding pictures between my first and second wedding, very weird to see how much I've changed. Of course I was 22 the first time I married, and 36 the second time so time had passed. I have a friend who is looking to get married in a few months, and she's been looking at destination weddings. She is torn between Florida and the islands. The thing is, no matter where she chooses she'll have a great time. She should check out SuperClubs.com where they have all inclusive resorts, and adult only resorts which can be very romantic. At SuperClubs.com they have a large selection of resorts to choose from and everything you could want!
When I got married the second time, we did it at a large beach house, and I loved that it was non-traditional. It was more relaxed, and I think everyone enjoyed it more. If you're looking for a destination wedding, check out SuperClubs.com. Can you say fabulous?
Yesterday I was playing with numbers. I'm still tweaking things around before booking our trip to Disney in November. I do that though, always relooking at numbers, moving the date by one or two days and seeing what changes in cost via hotel, transportation and such. When it comes to tickets, just playing with the different options available on the "Magic Your Way" ticket at Disney, you can really add or subtract to the final cost. Add parkhopper, and it jumps, take it off, and down it comes. Add the water parks and Disney Quest, and see how much it goes up. Get a 6 day ticket, and compare the difference with the 5 day or 7 day ticket. I know it sounds funny, but I usually end up getting great deals, that's how I go often. I compare pricing.
So far, I haven't found anyone with better discounted rates than OrlandoFunTickets.com. When I compared Disney's price for Walt Disney World Ticket's to their tickets, OrlandoFunTickets.com were cheaper! They offer a discounted rate of up to $10 a ticket. They do have shipping, but when it's said and done, if you're buying tickets for 4 people, that's a savings of $30 bucks. On top of that, if you're buying your tickets to Sea World and Universal as well, you're savings will continue to climb. Buy them all together and you'll only pay that one shipping fee. This post was brought to you by OrlandoFunTickets.com.

$70 is what it would cost me for a day at Hurricane Harbor for two people. That doesn't include a locker, food or other extras. It does include a full day of fun on a lazy river, whoosing down giant water slides, a wave pool and other splash zones.
Sometimes I want to detach the price of a day at the park, but how can you? How has it gotten to be that to take two people to an amusement park, it costs close to $100. Actually, if I opted for Great Adventure the amusement park, it will cost me $100.
They'll toss in the safari most times, but the parking will cost you another $10. How is parking not free. It's not like people are going to come in and park and walk the few miles to go somewhere else. It's that they CAN charge you to park, so they do. Think about it, everywhere it charging you to park these days...easy money, eh?
I will say that there are a lot of promos going on right now, buy 1 get 1 free with a Coke can Monday through Friday, or get $20 off with a special McDonald's cup. At least their throwing me a bone, eh? I'd like to head on over to Six Flags this week, but I'm still debating it. We just got back from the shore. Though I may do the late night, out of the sun deal at 1/2 price. Maybe I can work out something after all. Either way, I should have bought the season pass, then I'd be done with it...thinking about the money part.

Last night, I was sitting in my rocking chair and my feet were really bothering me. Here I was saying, "Man, I could really use a foot massage" and sitting next to my chair, about a foot away (no pun intended!) was my foot massager. Isn't that funny how you can have something, and totally forget you have it, or you don't even really pay attention to it, even though it's right next to you?
The bottoms of my feet have been a little tender, but especially the outside of my left foot about 2 inches below my pinky toe. I popped my feet on this baby last night and felt so much better. You click it on once to make the little balls move around, and click it twice for the infrared heat part. It's jsut slightly warm, not hot. My piggies felt so much better. I plopped that thing smack in front of my chair so I have to basically trip over it tonight to sit down so I can use it again.
It was actually a gift last June when I got home from Disney! My husband knew I'd be doing a LOT of walking with my son and mom, so he was thoughtful and picked this up for me. Since I started walking for exercise and I'm going up and down hills, at the end of the day, this is a nice treat to remember I have!
Guess what I'll be using tonight...
I wrote this while at the shore last week and just transferred it over...(I was writing on my small Jordana, and loved having it with me!) I didn't bring my laptop so I wouldn't get hooked into being on the computer.
Down at LBI, we are enjoying time along iwth my sister and her family who is at another home about 15 minutes from here. She's staying in the Harvey Cedars area, we're down closer to the Spray Beach and Beach Haven Gardens area. We drove down to their area on Sunday and sat on the beach with them. They were sprawled out on blankets and chairs in a group of 7, normally 4, but enjoying some time with friends who have come along for a day or two.
My son, hubby and I took on the cold ocean and played in the waves for over an hour. My son stayed in a second hour! It was cold to get in, but once you were in, we had fun jumping the waves and playing.
We cooked up some BBQ chicken for dinner. Oh, that reminds me, the BBQ place (rack shack or something of that nature) changed owners and is now the Mason Jar. We'll keep them in mind for the future.
Next we headed off to Fantasy Island, the arcade (we did it 2x this week) for some playtime. A sweet treat and a nice long drive topped off our night. We drove down to Barnegat and right near the light house is a Dairy Queen. We grabbed some blizzards and back we went to the other side of the island. It was one of those nights perfect for driving with the windows down.
I was writing this Monday morning (last week), and my husband had just left for a walk, when 10 minutes later it started to rain! We ended up having good weather for the most part, though the first half of Monday was a little soggy. The sky cleared later that day, and we went to see the movie Evan Almighty.
Lastly, we met my sister and her family for dinner Monday night for a tasty dinner at Spray Beach Hotel's restaurant. We dined on steak, seafood, pasta and salad. Excellent meal, really enjoyed the fresh mozzerella with the Brusietta (spelling?).

I'm standing in the doorway of the sliding glass door, this is what you see when you look out. I spent a lot of time on this deck. The bottom picture is looking to the left. Do you notice the empty space before the house? They just cleared out a lot, and will probably build a new home there. They cleared out everything, including any trees or plants to make space to build.
Many of the beach houses hear are duplexes as in first floor/second floor rentals. I'd love to own here, but the prices just keep going up. A small one bedroom condo starts in the mid $300,000's, and that's just not in my budget this week! (Pictures from Long Beach Island, New Jersey....LBI/NJ)

4 Bedrooms/1 Bathroom
We got to the shore (LBI/Long Beach Island) last Saturday afternoon, and after unloading the cars we sat around for a little bit cooling off. We then went and examined our new residence for the week. A quick trip to the market and to pick up dinner and we were set to settle in for the evening. The weather was perfect for sitting on the deck, so we ate dinner out there.
We rented a beach house on a corner, about a half block's distance to the shore. We were the third house from the beach. It was a great corner for people watching, and it was fun watching people bike, job and walk by. We watched teenaged maled pride as a group of boys celebrated around their cars...which proved amusing to these adults. Simple a mellow relaxing evening, enjoying the night air.
I finished the evening with a little bit of reading and my day was complete. If only the bed was a wee bit larger, and a little more comfortable! When you are tired enough, I guess it doesn't matter!

A little dark, but here's the big ole double bed we squooshed up on. All overweight me, and 6'2" hubby! I'm used to a California King at home, so this felt a little small! We still had a great time.
My mom has this thing for cruises. She loves them. I have another friend who loves cruises, and they've not really held that passion for me. Okay, I confess, maybe it's more the being at sea thing without seeing land. My mom promises it won't bother me once I get out there, and the ship is so big, and there's so much to do, I'll fall in love with cruising. What do you think? Do you love going on cruises?
I was reading some of the cruises that leave out of New York and New Jersey, and they do sound maginficent. I like that you can do short weeks as well as longer ones. With a 3 or 4 day cruise, you can have a long weekend and still feel like you took a vacation. Maybe it's time for me to actually give it a try. We'll see....there's a website called CruiseCheap.com which is a great place to start looking!

It's okay to be jealous. You'll be at work, I'll be sitting on the beach. Go ahead, get it out of your system....I'll be back soon enough, and then it will be your turn to vacation. But as it stands, it's my turn, and I'm heading out tomorrow morning. Enjoy the week, miss me a little, and I'll see you when I get back. Heading to the beach, and I'm so ready to dig my toes in the sand and play in the ocean!
I'll see you next week! Beach time in New Jersey :)
I head to the beach tomorrow, and I'll be kicking back in the sand, splashing in the water, dodging some waves, and having some fun with my family. We're taking a week to have some fun in the sun, laughter and good times. I may or may not check in tonight or tomorrow before leaving, but I wanted to explain the gap in posting next week!

This was a cool McDonalds in Indianapolis even if they did screw up my order! I snapped this picture while in the drive-thru line. I thought it was cool they had a DVD kiosk right there! I never saw that before. Then the line splits in two like a Y, and there's two order things, then you merge back together and voila, there's your food. Stupid merge, I ended up with a fish sandwich and a coke. Wrong order, but I didn't stop to check since there was so much traffic. They actually had a cop directing traffic OUT of the McDonald's! This was in Indianapolis, Indiana. Then I went a block down the road and paid $3.38 a gallon for gas!

While I was on my road trip last week, I happened to pass a truck featuring Team Tylenol. The funny thing about this, is it's NASCAR racers endorsing a rapid release product, but there's no actual racing team. I thought the truck was fun to see though, so I snapped a picture. Hey, when you are driving 2200 miles, you take amusement where you can! ;) This picture was snapped in West Pennsylvania heading out towards the Pittsburgh area.
I found this a little amusing....the rest area at one particular stop in Illinois was called the Pride of the Prairie. Hmmm, your restroom is the pride of the prairie? To add insult to injury, if you had an emergency, their EMERGENCY call box was, oops, OUT of ORDER! I thought Illinois was a beautiful state, the area I went through, but couldn't help getting a giggle out of this quick stop.

To describe Ang, the first word that came to me is WHOLESOME. I don't know which other word to describe. She makes me think of woman, mother, wife, friend, and there's not another way to say that. It was great to finally give her a real hug in person, as opposed to a virtual hug. Ang made me lunch, and the 6 of us (Ang, Me and the kids) laughed and shared stories as we ate. We then went out to see all the animals. She has a horse, chickens, randy roosters, cats, kittens and a sweet dog that is just as gentle as can be. We took a drive to the river, and when I asked which river...The Mississippi, I suddenly remembered I was half way across the country! That central time zone difference of an hour threw me off 2x in one day! After strolling along the river and talking, we went back and sat outside talking and laughing, amazed that this conversation was now in person, rather than over the internet. It was hard to leave, but I knew that this friendship was special and worth the drive. I was right.
Two things for Angie: Quincy is like my Phillipsburg(where I shop/movies,etc) I drove through it....and I knew I'd like Tom the minute I saw the John Deer. I went, he's a cool guy and laughed.
Great experience, great friend, and great seeing such beautiful open space. Where Ang lives is like an open field paradise, and I loved it. (I'd miss the beach and ocean, but loved the feel of the area) Thanks to Angie for allowing me to spend time with her and her family.

What an incredible journey I took this past week. I've spoken of my road trip, but now you'll get to see and hear more of it. When you talk to people every day online, you form connections, and some of those connections just come through stronger than others. There's no simple way to explain it to those who haven't experienced that process. This picture shows three women who enjoyed meeting and talking in person, but it started long before with conversation online through blogging, comments, and general chatter. Not everyone understands those bonds that form, but that's okay, they don't need to. My husband knows a particular group of people I'm very close to, and having the chance to hook up with them has been important to me. This time, I headed west and got to come face to face with my good friend Marisa. Her neighbor and fellow blogger Tammie was there as well! How cool to get to meet them both. Marisa is on the left, I'm in the middle, and Tammie is on the right. In the picture below, Marisa is on the left, me again on the right.
When I came face to face with Marisa, there was no awkward silence, it was like sitting and talking to a friend I've had for years. It was fresh and fun, laughter and chatter. Tammie and BJ joined us, and we all enjoyed some lunch. I had some Veggie Wedgie (thanks Maggie and Amanda), sausage sandwiches and yummy dessert. It was women laughing and sharing stories over lunch. It was more than that. It was saying that yes, you dear friend are just as important to me as a friend who lives in New Jersey, even though you live states away. I was traveling through and wasn't able to stay long, and the hardest part was leaving. Marisa is the kind of girl you want to get in your jammies, curl up on the sofa and talk to for hours. She is a spark of energy, bursting with life, and I just adored her so much. I wish she didn't live so far away. When I thought I might be able to stop on the way back, I was happy at that thought, but the final day of driving ended up being a long one, and I didn't make it the second time. I'll get back there at some point so we can continue our conversation well into the night. If you have the chance to meet Marisa, grab it, and you won't be sorry. You just can't help but love her. What a great experience, and one I can't wait to have again. Tammie is wise and warm, BJ's eyes lit up when we shared coaster stories! I teased her, because a true roller coaster fan's eyes light up and the adrenalin goes when you're talking about a great coaster! I know, I'm a big fan too! Tammie and BJ, what a great joy to meet you both as well. I loved the afternoon and sitting talking with the three of you made it all so special.
Ok, so I have over 50 pictures from my trip to edit, and I've got things to tell you about! Most of it will be here on this blog, though the driving pictures will be on my Travel blog. That's over at Travel.TwoDogZoo.com.
It will take me a bit to get them all up, but I'll be doing pieces through out the weekend. Look for them later tonight and tomorrow to hear all about it!
I have pictures to share and stories to tell. I had a long drive today, so there won't be much story telling tonight. I'll get to it all this weekend and fill you in on my weekday trip out to Central Time Zone territory! I got to see a couple of friends and I can't wait to write about that, some beautiful country, pics to share of that, and stayed at a few hotels along the way. All the same chain, and all three rooms, completely different, though similar.
I added an extra hour to my drive today, thanks to some fun construction merges, both in Pennsylvania! I was getting close, I could feel home around the corner, but my patience was being tested! I'm home and happily doing laundry and other stuff. I'll fill you in soon enough. It's nice to be home!
I just realized I crossed into the Central Time Zone today. I'm ready for bed and it's all of 7:30 here! I was driving for 7 hours today, so I'm pretty beat. I did about 9 hours or so yesterday. I'm enjoying my time on the road, and got to visit with a friend yesterday. I'll see yet another friend tomorrow. I just wanted to send a hello out and let you know I'll write about my trip when I get back. I have pictures too, but not a media card reader on my laptop. No biggie, I'll post them when I get back home.
Cheers from Illinois!
If my son has it his way, we'll be heading to Hawaii next year. He really wants to return, and if I keep looking at the Hawaii Vacation Rentals over at Gebhart Properties, I'll be booking before I know it. The problem is getting me on a plane! Once I get over that part, I'll be thinking Hawaii. It's one of those dream destinations to me, and I think it's about time I made it there. I've waited all my life to finally afford it, and now that I'm finally able to afford it, I need to get over that last hurdle.
At Gebhart Properties, I fell in love with some of their rental properties. How can you not fall in love with views like that, and with such gorgeous acomodations. I'll let you know if I end up booking a trip there.
You'd think we'd just buy a vacation home down in Orlando all ready, as many times as we've been there during the last year. You guessed it, we're heading back down again later in the year. One of the things we love about that area of Florida is there is so much to do. Betwen the major theme parks like Sea World, Disney and Universal, you've got plenty to do. If you're tired of theme parks, there are a bunch of dinner shows, and just about anything you can think of. It's a busy area with tosn of shopping, lots of restaurants, and even more miniature golf. My favorite part is the theme parks of course, and personally, I don't tire of them. I'm like a little kid, and I get caught up in the excitement of it all. Sure, I live an hour from Six Flags in New Jersey, but Orlando holds a certain magic. In fact, I'll be buying my tickets soon enough. I'll be buying Disney tickets, Sea World tickets and Universal Studio Tickets. We'll be doing it all, once again! We love all of the parks!
If you're looking for a place where you can buy all your tickets together, then you'll want to check out OrlandoFunTickets.com for the best prices on all your ticket needs, including all the theme parks, along with all the themed dinner shows. OrlandoFunTickets.com can save you time and money! Buy them all at once, get a great deal, and you'll have peace of mind! Check them out today for all your ticket needs in Orlando.
Combine the magic of Disney, the passion of say a small movie called Star Wars, and you've got some wild weekends. The famous Star Wars Weekends at Disney will be held during the month of June on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Bring your best costume along, and join in the fun.
Warwick Davis, who played Wicket the Ewok in Return of the Jedi, will be signing autographs and participating in the parade like he's done for years now.
Head on over for the fun and excitement of meeting people from the films, seeing people dressed up in Star Wars gear, trivia, behind the scenes stuff and more!
If you'd like more information, you can read about it in the Disney Insider.

Marcus, Cass (in the pink), and Me
*Carolina humidity does my hair no favors.... :P
As I just got back from my trip, I wanted to put some thoughts down before I fall asleep. Actually, I'm not home yet, but at the hotel. I just returned from seeing my Cass and Marcus. What a surreal experience, meeting someone in real life that you talk to daily on the computer…personalities with more dimensions…and just like that, my friends just went from 2d to 3d if that makes sense! As I take in each personality, and wonder if they are who I see them as in my mind, I remind myself that they are meeting me in person for the first time as well. We are all forming thoughts and opinions as to who we are as we sit together. Am I who they think I am? Do I come across as the same person? I think in person, everyone is softer. Am I different? I think it starts with hearing someone's voice. I remember a few weeks ago, hearing Suni's voice for the first time...so wild, we laugh when we realize we sound different then we both pictured.

Cass and Deb (Satruday, May 5th)
Okay, back to Marcus and Cass....Cass is like your favorite comfort food. Mine happen to be mashed potatoes…so to me, Cass is like mashed potatoes that are just right; not too stiff and not too creamy. She’s the kind of girl you want to sit on a porch in a rocking chair and just chatter away with her. She is warm, and will easily be the favorite grand mother to grandchildren one day. She has a comfort in herself that I really like. She is who she is, and I like who she is. She’s like your favorite warm socks. (Her family is sweet and adorable, her husband is kind and friendly, and let me tell you, raising 8 children, they are both adorable, and polite! She’s one heck of a mom, have no doubt.I got to meet her mom as well, how cool was that?)Marcus is the type of guy you want to take home to meet mom. Single girls line up, because ladies, I’m telling you, he is the real deal- a true Southern gentleman. He looks much younger in person, and if I didn't know him, I'd easily subtract 7 years from his real age. He’s tall, clean cut and handsome. He stands at 6’2”, so now you know what I look like when I stand next to my husband who is also 6’2”. He has a very laid back charm, and is well thought out. I adore Marcus, and now in person, I know he is who he is online. That’s his truth and personality shining through. He has a bunch of “on-line” sisters who keep an eye out for him, and ladies, what a great “brother” we have in Marcus.
It was a lovely day, and Cass tell Patrick, I’m glad I left when I did! I’m exhausted, it caught up with me. It's 8:20pm (I wrote this Saturday night at the hotel) and I'd be happy to tuck in for the night. I just don't care to wake at 5am...so I'll force myself to stay awake longer.
Driving down one of the highways, I saw this really creepy grey cloud way too close to the ground, so I high-tailed it out of that spot as fast as I could and a massive downpour got me!
Overall, my journey this past weekend was a lovely experience.
I'm on the left (way windblown!) and Retta is on the Right. I had my windows down for about 5 hours before meeting her! This is what I wrote at the hotel that night after meeting with Loretta.
(this was written Friday night at the hotel)
I drove about 600 miles last night. officially 590 miles. Virginia traffic was the worst as always. I made way too many potty stops and realized, I'm like traveling with a small child, since I have to pee so often.! I do drink non-stop the entire trip, but I hate to be thirsty.I finally pulled up at my first destination, and got to have aquick visit with my friend Loretta. It was wonderful to get to hug her in person. Because my timing was off, as I arrived it was just in time to go to the bus stop to pick up her boys. She has 4 adorable kids, a dog who LOVES me..hahahahah, okay, the little girl loved to bark at me, but she was cute none the less, and so small! Kitty seemed unphased I was there, while puppy was on alert. Her boys were very sweet, and I left with a few books being sent for my son, which he'll be thrilled about. I'm sorry I only got to stay for a short visit, but it was still worth it. It's so nice to be face to face with someone you talk to all throughout the day. Loretta's hair is so much longer than I realized, and she has a double, because I couldn't place it at the time, but Miss Loretta, you look just like a girl Paula I know. I mean, wow, the similarities! I'll see if I can find a picture somewhere to show you! Her husband was walking in, as I was walking out! Timing again...but I had more than 3 hours ahead of me on the road. I hope the camcorder is working out for you. (I forget to tell you, you'll need a USB cord with it to transfer between the camera and the computer.)
I ran a little late thanks to major roads set with a speed limit of 65, and yet traffic moved betwwn 20-35 miles per hour. I only got to stay for about 2 hours because I still had 3 more hours of driving ahead of me.
I'm at the hotel now in Selma, NC and have 2 hours to go tomorrow to get to see Cass and Marcus. I'm very esxcited...I'll hang for about 5 hours, then do a 2 hour drive back to the hotel. Sunday I'll drive 8 hours home.
I'll sleep like a baby, as the bed here is like a cloud, seriously, I love the bed, so soft and comfy. I had 4 feathery light pillows to myself! (How did you sleep? Wait, I even took a picture of the bed for one particular friend!)
This is a great warm-up, as I'm doing something similar in June, only in the direction of west, rather than south....so far so good...note to self...600 miles..just filled my tank again last night. First time was at about 1/4 tank...halfway, was 34.00....and again, similar in NC, 34.00. (I'll be able to budget better in June if I have these details!)
The thing about the trip is it can be costly ...I'll easily use close to 150.00 in gas (actual total of gas: $144.00/averaged $2.90-3.00 gallon) ...but I'll tally the receipts when I get home....I prefer a certain hotel chain (yes, I'm a hotel snob, you'll get over it), and could find something cheaper, but it's costing $230 for 2 nights..if I stayed with people, I'd save money, but I like to have personal space at the end of the day.
These trips will run about $500 dollars, but are well worth it to me...I can only do so many right now, because, i have to pay for these, before I can do more, and believe me, I'll do more. Nova Scotia is in my sites as well. It will take me until about fall, because family spending takes over in the summer with school out.
I'm also heading to the shore in late June, and saving for a fall/winter trip as well. By the way, I'm typing this at the hotel on my new toy. I type a little slower on it, because the keys are smaller, but i love the size, and that I have it with me to jot my thoughts down. Now I just hook it to my computer with a USB cord, and my stuff transfers to over. Lovin' it!

This is the last time I'll be posting utnil Monday. I'm excited and have to get some stuff together. As I mentioned, I'm horrible at preparing early, but I'm going to attempt to get a few more things together. I hope you have a great weekend. The weather in NJ is supposed to be great! 70's some sunshine and the sort. See you when I get back!
I am beside myself with excitement. Another day has passed, and tomorrow morning I'll be hitting the road! I remember how this started. I was going to visit a mutual friend, and one of my other friends in North Carolina said, "no fair, nobody is visiting me", and so right then and there, I said "I will" and here I go tomorrow! Ha...it was that simple!
Now it turned into not only one person I get to see, but three! How cool is that? I feel the anticipation in me, because I've got that extra wired energy. Maybe I should use it to do something good around the house....nah! I'll just revel in it.
I'm getting both antsy and excited. I head out on a road trip on Friday! I get excited early in the week, then the day before I get excitement nerves which will give me an upset tummy! It's funny how I have to go through these same patterns. Either way, it's a trip I'm looking forward to, so I'm just smiling away here today.
I'll be heading down Route 95...hoping for great driving weather, and maybe listening to a book, or singing along off-key to the radio! Either way, I'll be smiling. I'll return from my trip Sunday night around dinner time. I'll fill you in on more details when I get back from it.
This weather makes me yearn for a vacation. Whenever I get to play in the fresh air, I start thinking of where I want to go, where I want to visit, and where I'll vacation next. One of the first places I check out is vacations.net
Let's face it, their great prices not only grab your attention but save you up to 50%. How can you not love that? I haven't decided where my next trip will be, but I'm thinking either an all inclusive vacation or a tropical vacation. Maybe I'll do an all-inclusive tropical vacation! I'll have to sort through and see what they're offering. I love how you can sort by the type of vacation you want to take, or by location. It's so easy to find just what you're looking for. It's deciding on just one, because they all sound so fabulous! This post was brought to you by Vacations.net
We went miniature golfing yesterday. My son got hit in the head by the windmill that was spinning around. I felt so bad for him, but to watch him handle pain or frustration is intersting, because he's changing as he comes into his teenage years. To make him feel better, I almost spilled the beans that we are going to go to Disney this year. I held my tongue, because I'd like it to be a surprise.
One of our fun memories in Disney is playing miniature golf there at Winter Summerland golf! It's a cute little golf course, but the day we went, the weather was perfect and we just were so relaxed. We had a blast doing everything from going to all the theme parks to Downtown Disney. We didn't do Universal or Sea World in November, though we did them in June. I'd like to go back to Sea World with him as well.
Disney is our favorite though, and no matter how many times you go, you can't help but get caught up in the fun and enthusiasm. Even the McDonald's on the property plays Mickey movies while you eat. Each piece leaves you smiling.
When we stayed in June we stayed in a condo, and I liked the extra space. Maybe we'll check out Orlando Vacation Rentals, and find a place through there. I'm still undecided where I want to stay. I love having the laundry area and kitchen in larger units, and when you've had a long day, everybody needs their own space, so it's a good possibility we'll look into a vacation rental again. I'll know more as it's closer. If you're looking to keep up on the latest Disney News, you can get it here. This post has been brought to you by WindsorPalmsFlorida.com. I'll be heading south come November this year! Shhhh, I haven't told my son yet!Another rainy day in New Jersey, but that's normal because it's Friday. I go down to see my Mom and sister on Fridays, and I always seem to bring the rain or the wind when I've come. I'd say tht 80% of the time, it ends up being rainy on Friday! I don't know what it is...LOL
Anyway, I just jotted down some plans for my next Friday, since I will be driving, but a little farther than my Mom's this time. I'm going to see two friends, and have plotted my route, figured out where I'm going to stay, and am excited to take the journey. This next trip will take me about 10 hours from home, where as the trip to my mom's is about an hour. I hope the rain stays away next Friday!
I have a few audiobooks I've been wanting to listen to, so this would be the perfect time. Can't wait!
Here's my new toy I've been playing with today. It's a palmtop of sort...think of a mix between a tiny laptop, and a bigger PDA. They don't make them anymore, so it's an older refurbished piece, but it has a 2 year warranty, so it's all good.
It's a Jordana 728. I wanted something I could take with me when I travel so I could write. I don't want all the things a laptop gives you, though we have one. My husband uses it for work mostly. I have a desk top and I also have a PDA, but I wanted a keyboard, where I could blog or write when I'm at a hotel, or on vacation for a spell. Sometimes I have thoughts in my head I just want to jot down! Othertimes, I want to work on one of my books. Either way, it's my fun throwback toy that I just got. :) Thought I'd share it here, in case you don't read my tech blog.
On Route 95, on the way to pick up my sister. Here comes my exit! I'm almost there. Next we head down to Beach Haven, Long Beach Island.
Here we are, this time we stayed at The SeaShell Motel. I like the SeaShell, Engleside and Spray Beach the best, because they are beach front!
Up the stairs to our Ocean Front room!
It's still quiet down here because it's April and off season! Coincidentally, we had gorgeous sunny days with temperatures at 83 on Monday and 78 on Tuesday! Lots of prep for the season going on down at LBI right now.
There's the money shot! One of my favorite views in the world. I love to sit on the beach and watch the ocean. I'm up in my room, on the deck, taking this shot. You just walk over the dune, and then the white sandy beach is ready for your toes!
We had a blast, and enjoyed our trip. Dinner at Buckalews, and breakfast at the little Bayside Diner. We shopped at a few of the places that were open, sat out on the beach and laughed a lot together, sharing memories, stories and fun! :) I have a great sister...and we had a great time.
Tomorrow I head to the beach, and while it will be in the high 70's around here, down there it should be low to mid 70's. Oh my oh my, perfect weather for being out and about. I think I'll enjoy the drive down, as much as the beach visit. I can't wait to put my windows down and let the wind blow through my hair!
I CAN'T WAIT! My beach chair is all ready kept in the back of my truck, and I don't care if I have to bring a sweatshirt if it's breezy, I'll be sitting on the beach in all my glory!
Speaking of charging my vacation, I've paid off the beach house in June, and I'm working on paying down the rest of my credit cards. I'm hoping to plan our next trip in November to Disney. I've been making good progress, and it looks like I'll be going after all. I've worked hard to pay them down, and I'm proud I've gotten as far as I have.
This will probably be our last trip down to Orlando for awhile, but I'm still just as excited to plan this one as well. We loved the Caribbean last time we went, but I may opt for a rental house and a private pool for less money! It's funny how when you compare prices, there are so many different options. It's just a matter of what you want. Choice is such a big option down there!
I've been asked to write about the best thing I've ever put on my credit card. I'd have to say that easily, it was my trip to Disney last November. You see in November, my son and I went to Walt Disney World together. We had gone in June, and while we had fun, it was so hot and crowded, it was hard to enjoy it fully. We were either worn out from the heat, or worn out from the crowds. I decided that we were going to go back, just the two of us in November. I booked a trip online, choosing to stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort, and we took the auto train down, and I put the entire trip on my credit card. I planned it 6 weeks in advance, and surprised him.
We had such a great time together. We didn't feel smothered by crowds, the weather was incredible, and we really had such a bonding experience. It was a week I won't ever forget. I've been paying off my credit cards so I can do it again this fall.
When it comes down to it, having cheap credit cards, or 0 interest credit cards, it makes it affordable. I don't have to worry about high interest rates, and paying off way more than I spent. In fact you can get a 0 balance transfer credit card offer and save yourself some money too. With so many choices out there, there isn't any reason to pay high interest rates anymore. This message was brought to you by BeatThatQuote.comI was just over at Travel Monkey, and saw they have different clips and stories about Sweden. My previous last name was Swedish! Team Travel Monkey headed to Florida this weekend, and we know how much I love Orlando! Sounds like there was a lot of fun going on after the work was done. Superman got thrown into a pool, laughs were had by many, and the barbecue went pretty well. Sunday night they were at a dance in Tampa! I wonder if my friend Colleen from Tampa was there? A little bit of fun at the drive-thru windows followed. Sounds like a good time was had by all. If you're looking for good travel stories, check out Travel Monkey.

Did I tell you about the time I was in Florida in February, and I hadn't exactly spelled out where I'd be to my son, so he wouldn't feel like he was missing out? I called him and gave him where abouts, well, we just passed through Virginia. Passing through Savannah, oh and we may head down to Florida after we heard about the tornado that went through. Anyway, I'm being a little cagey, because he's back in school, and at his dad's, and the weather is cold and miserable back up here.
Finally, he says to me, "Mom, just tell me the truth, are you at the Superbowl?" I started laughing, because sure enough, it was the day of the Superbowl, but actually no, I was at Disney! "I can honestly say I'm not at the Superbowl...do you know how hard it is to get tickets to that?" Anyway, I eventually caved and told him and he handled it pretty well. After all, he'd been there twice that year.
Thinking about getting tickets like that is near impossible. Heck, getting great seats to a lot of football games are tough, when you want good seats. Say we had decided to get Miami Dolphin Tickets, well, I would have gone through PremiumSeatsUSA.com because I know that they offer premium seating, and I'll get the kind of seats you want at a game. They can help you get tickets to sporting events, concerts and other hot events. Keep Premium Seats USA in mind, when you want to get great seats at the next event you're attending!
I should tell you my "other" Arizona story. Remember how I was just mentioning those casitas? OH man, we went out to eat one night and I had this amazing steak, but something happened. I got really sick. I got so sick, I couldn't move! Maybe it was because I loved Arizona so much, I wasn't ready to leave! Anyway, my husband, back then boyfriend, called the airline and had to push back our flight an extra day, because I was too ill to fly!
If you've hung in this long, here's my favorite part. When he called the airline to rebook and move the tickets around, he referred to me as his fiance. Even in that dog sick condition, I found a smile go across my lips. He hadn't asked me yet to be his wife, but overhearing that conversation, I knew he was planning on sticking around for the long haul, as I had hoped for as well.
We've been happily together for 7 years, married for 4, and I've gotten sick on plenty of other trips too! It's a wonder he takes me anywhere! LOL

We were watching the show "Modern Marvels'" on the History channel last night, and watching the portion about the water show at the Bellagio got us talking. We decided Vegas will be our big trip next year. Since we did a big trip in February, and I'll be doing other things through the summer with my son, this one will have to wait until 2008. (Hey, I made a rhyme! Wait/2008!)
Regardless, because we have Atlantic City here, it's not about going to Vegas to gamble for us. We're all ready married, so no quick little white chapel marriages for us. We'd just like to take in the shows and sites. We'll probably take in some other areas as well, knowing us! Either way, looks like we decided to finally do Vegas next year. Woohoo- Okay, so maybe I'll hit a few slots while I'm there. ;)
My friend Julie lives out in Vegas, and in fact writes a Vegas blog called Las Vegas is Home! I'll be sure to stop by and give her a hug and share a few laughs.
I was reading the lastest issue of Disney Insider; that gets mailed to me, and read this...
attraction at the Parks is eagerly watched by Disney fans, and we've gotten the Imagineers to give us a preview of what you'll see later this spring when the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor opens its doors.

So I'm doing the math, and it looks like I'm going to have to wait to find a good deal for Disney in the fall. What I did decide to do in the meantime is to book a midweek trip to the shore in July, and one in August. Maybe 2 nighters or 3 to break up each month. I'll deal with Disney later! It's still on my mind, so I know I'll be searching for a great deal, but sometimes waiting until it's closer, you can snag a great deal.
I was checking out hotels down at Ocean City, and saw one on the boardwalk that might be nice for a midweek short trip during the summer. I don't usually go there, so it might be something a little different.
I generally choose Long Beach Island as my first choice for a Jersey beach, and when I'm thinking boardwalk fun, we do Wildwood for a short trip during the summer. Seaside is a day trip to us. Ocean City isn't one I genreally think of, so I thought we could head there for soemthing different.
If we decide to go, I'll let you know where we're staying and a review when we get back. Do you have a favorite place down Ocean City?

(Image from DisneyClips.com)
I"ll be playing with the calculator and a few sites to see about going to Disney in the fall. I'm not sure if I can swing it, but if I stick to the plan of paying my credit cards down, I might be able to. I love to do the comparison game, so checking out places like hotels, condos, on-site hotels and such...that's part of the fun! Each time I punched some figures in on Disney's main site, it loaded as being done, but didn't show me he figures- maybe it's a sign...don't go! LOL
I really loved Caribbean beach last time we went, and loved the feel of the resort. We enjoyed it so much. My aunt just stayed at Coronada Springs, which is where I think I'd book if it was with my husband, but this would be with my son, and he loved Caribbean beach a lot too. I do like the extra space a condo offers you, but sometimes you're rarely in the room anyway. I guess it depends if it will be a shorter or longer trip.
We were discussing flying this time, but I'm still not a big fan of flying, but it would save so much versus the Auto Train again. He loved the little rooms on the train though, and enjoyed that part of the experience...just don't think that's in the works this time. I may have to deal with my not so fondness of getting on a plane.
I'm not sure I'm going yet, but I keep thinking along those lines, so I may end up booking something. My goal is to continue to pay down my credit cards, and if I get far enough along by June- I'll book. I just have to stop looking, or I'll book too soon! I love being outside, walking around, enjoying the sites, and because I've done it enough times, I don't feel rushed to "see it all" which I think a lot of people do. I know on my first trip, we pushed to do so much more, and ended up worn out..the following trips, we went more low key and enjoyed it a lot more.
Anyway, don't mean to ramble, just thinking of Florida about now. I'm thinking maybe around Thanksgiving like we did last year. We were actually on the train on Thanksgiving day coming home, right when the crowds were getting bigger at the parks! That's the other thought...flying around the Thanksgiving holiday could be crazy busy. Decisions, decisions! I just don't want too much school missed, and a few days off is better than a full week. I think this past November, he missed 2 days only.
You won't believe it, but I'm considering more Orlando vacations. We had so much the last three times we went down, I can't stop thinking about it. I'm not sure if I'm going to stay in a hotel, in vacation homes, or a condo this time. I think each has something unique to offer. I'm looking at maybe doing November again, since it worked out so well last time. I just went in February, and with a beach vacation planned for June, I don't think I can do it before fall. I've got Orlando on the brain! I want to go back to Sea World and Disney again!
I'll let you know if I decide to book something again. My son enjoyed taking the train down last time, but it costs a lot more than flying. I'm just not a fan of flying these days! We'll see what we end up doing.
I spent a little time in Texas a few years ago, and when I first went down, one of the things that I really felt was how much open space there was. I had always lived in the Northeast, so going west, I was expecting it to look mostly the same, but I was surprised just how open it was! It made me think of the song "Wide Open Spaces" by the Dixie Chicks as I explored. When I first got there, I had an apartment, because I had set up some stuff before I arrived. I was amazed at the difference in prices between Amarillo and my home town in Pennsylvania. The prices in Texas were half what they were in Pennsylvania! I didn't need movers, because it was just me and what was in my pick-up truck. I was just going through a divorce, and needed to clear my head. I didn't make all of my best choices at that time, but it was a shift that really showed me another side of the country.
In Amarillo, one of the things that I got a kick out of was all the horses, donkeys and long horns I saw. I stayed at a little place right off of Claude Highway, which was a half paved, half dirt road along the way. I had a friend Scott in the fire department and sheriff's department that lived down the road, and he helped me get adjusted to the local areas I needed to know about. One of the neat things Scott did was fly airplanes in shows as well! He was an all around neat guy. His dad was involved in cattle feed, something totally different from the Pennsylvania world I knew about. He wasn't actually the reason I was in Texas, but we became better friends when I lived down the road. Good guy, I hope he's doing well.
My favorite place in Amarillo was the Lonestar. It was this little hole in the wall tavern, where the long necks were kept in a bathtub full of ice, and a roll of papertowels was thrown on your table for napkins. They had the biggest, freshest steaks that left me missing them when I found myself back in Pennsylvania a few months later.
While I was down there, I was looking at Used Motorcycles, and when I came back home to Pennsylvania, I ended up getting my motorcycle license, which I still have today! It was a time of growth for me, and that's how I'll always remember Amarillo. Don't get me started on my first Tornado warning, that was a culture shock in itself!

I have Disney on the brain. I just found myself checking out the prices over at Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs in Walt Disney World! I'm not supposed to be going again this year, but I don't know if I can promise I won't! Maybe just one more time...
Off season, the moderate resorts are starting at $145 a night...I might be able to swing that. Maybe it's all the snow I'm seeing out my window that has me daydreaming of traveling to warmer places.
I got an email this morning from a friend who is heading into New York to celebrate her anniversary. As a wedding gift, a few friends and I got them a gift certificate to choose a broadway play to see. They've chosen an epic love story to celebrate their first year married. Living in central New Jersey, it takes us just about an hour to get into New York City.
Last time we went into New York we saw 3 shows over the weekend, and went to a spa. We saw Mama Mia! which was a lot of fun, and has the music of ABBA. The performance was fabulous! The other play we saw that weekend was Avenue Q. If you've never seen that show, it is a riot! We laughed so much, our sides were aching. You can check out the top 10 attractions of NYC if you've never been there.
The last show we saw was Elton John at Madison Square Garden. If you've never seen him in concert, he's my favorite! He puts on such a great show, and never ceases to blow us away. It was such a fun experience. We shared the experience with my mom and my aunt. My husband surprised me by getting tickets for 4 to each of the events. We had such an incredible weekend. As a thank you to him, I called ahead and arranged for the hotel restaurant to bring out a dessert with the words thank you written across the plate!
Driving in NYC is an experience in itself! We prefer to have a car bring us into the city, or park over in Hoboken and take the path train over. Driving in New York City is unlike anything you've ever experienced! I've done it once, and it was the one and only time I'll ever do that- from now on, I'll hire a driver!
If you're looking for hotels in NYC, look around and compare. Prices are steep, but if you look around, you can usually find something that will work for you. I'm not sure what the hotel we stayed at is called now, as I think it just switched hands after we went. We were really close to Madison Square Garden, so we could just about walk across the street after the concert! It worked out really well for us. If you're willing to drive in New York, you may want to look into Car Loans to get a car that will work for you. Remember parking is at a bare minimum, so you may want a smaller car! No matter how you get there, or what you do when you arrive, New York is a lively place! There is so much to see and do there, you should have a blast! This post was brought to you by NYU.edu
Don't mind me...I'm just dreaming of Florida knowing we have a bunch of snow coming. Ahhh, t-shirt weather in February! This was taken at Downtown Disney in Walt Disney World. These are the days, I start looking for good travel deals!
This alone can show you why I love Long Beach Island in New Jersey. Sandy white beaches, and an endless horizon of ocean. This is all time favorite place to visit. It's a second home to me, and has coddled me since I was an infant. This will be my 40th year enjoying this beach, and I wanted to share a little piece of it with you today.

Sharing a little more from our trip. This is the "Tree of Life" behind us. It's carved with 300 animals and is beautiful to see. This is the center of Animal Kingdom, and the rest of the park is a circle around it, mostly. One of the things about this park, Animal Kingdom is the lushness of it. You'll immediately notice the greens everywhere. This park tends to feel warmer than the other parks. It's lush here, and you'll both see and feel the difference.
We love the sounds here. Walking through the Africa section, you'll hear drums and beats going, and maybe you'll see some great dancing as well. Walking from Africa to Asia is a plant like tree, which is actually a woman on stilks and wrapped in vines. She moves slowly and methodically, and until you see her face, you're wondering exactly what's going on. She's a lot of fun, and attracts a lot of attention.
Of course in the Asia section of the park, you'll want to jump on Everest. I didn't go on this past trip, but in November, my son and I did it 3 times in a row. I'm a roller coaster fan, and love the adrenaline rush, but I don't like scary things and didn't want to see what the Yetti looked like! He wanted me to keep my eyes open the second and third times, because he saw me close my eyes when we got close to the Yetti the first time! LOL Drop me down a huge hill, just don't show me a scary guy! After I saw him, he wasn't so bad after all.
Morning Sunshine...
There's not much magic going on outside today with the wind gusting like crazy and people's trash cans rolling by. Tomorrow we'll be seeing some snow. I thought thinking back to vacation might be a nice thing to do about now!
This picture was actually taken from the train station in Disney near the maingate entrance. We were about to head on over to Splash Mountain, so we thought the train would be a quicker trip then walking. We were right, there was no wait, and by the time we got off people were pouring into the waiting area of the ride. Our timing was perfect, as once again there was next to no wait at Pirates of the Caribbean. Ahhh, memories...
There goes the neighbor's trashcan again...I guess I'm still in New Jersey.
Thinking about a trip to Las Vegas in the next year. We’ve been talking about it for years, but we’ve never done it. I like to play the slots, but I’d really like to go for the spectacle. I see it on TV all the time, and it just seems like such a neat place to visit. They also have some spectacular shows—Celine Dion, Elton John, Cirque de Soleil. I think next January might be a good time. It’ll be cold here in the northeast, but toasty warm out there.
My sister and I have never taken a trip, just the two of us. We decided it would be fun for us to take a sister-bonding getaway. We arent' sure where we want to go yet, but I've been looking at a few places to gather some ideas. I was over at Oceano-Rentals.com and saw some beach front properties at Rocky Point house rentals. In Las Conchas there were townhomes, condos and single homes that ar beachfront that are gorgeous and affordable. I love how easy it is to compare properties on the Oceano-Rentals.com site. When I decide where we're going, I'll let you know. As for the Rocky Point area, it's on the list. I saw the most adorable Casita!
I love the video tour so you can just push play and see the home. IThe casita I was looking at is ocean front and it even shows you the steps onto the beach. It has a gorgeous patio area that gets a lot of sun, and would make a great place to eat lunch during the day! This one is certainly on my list! I love that the virtual tour shows you both the inside and the outside, so you can make an informed decision. A lot of sites just show you a picture of a house, and then you have to guess if it's been well kept up and is as nice inside. With the video tour, there's no question about it!
The other thing I like about this site is that the show you the weather of the area. If it's not an area you're familiar with, it saves you the trouble of having to go search that for yourself. It's a really well done site, and one I'll go back to again. Check out Oceano-Rentals.com for your next vacation. This post was brought to you by Oceano-Rentals.com

I'm sorting through my Disney pictures still, and looking to pull them out. I am trying to remember to put the pictures I posted into another file, so I don't duplicate! If I do, I apologize. My husband likes tihs picture, because I forget to take off my sunglasses on a lot of pictures, so they're on my head in this one!
Do you notice the clouds in the sky? It threatened to rain all day, and this was the coolest day, somewhere in the mid 60's and cloudy. The rest of the week was sunny and in the 70's. It was incredible weather!
I hope to have the rest of the vacation pics up this week. We had such a full trip, and the drive was tiring, but we found it relaxing as well.
While in Orlando, this time we visited: Sea World, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, MGM Studios and Epcot, as well as the Downtown Disney Area. We also took in some miniature golf as well, and we get pretty darn competitive! I almost had him, but we ended up tying! I win this game 3 out of every 4 games we play, so when we tie or he wins, he takes great pleasure in ribbing me!
Here's another image from my trip. I loved how the Disney font. I snapped this picture while at Downtown Disney on the west side. We were actually headed to the movie theater where we saw "Norbit". It was a funny movie, and we laughed a lot!
I'll be adding more images this week as time allows.
This is one of my favorite images I took from vacation. It was such a simple picture, just waiting to be taken. Do you want to know the funny part of this great shot? It was taken at a gas station! This is at the Hess on the Walt Disney World grounds. They stood there together, and while my husband was filling up the tank, I was like....oooh, I want that shot!
La Nouba is a visually stunning show. This is a show by Cirque Du Soleil that is exclusively in the Walt Disney Resort area. They have their own stadium that is in Downtown Disney on the western side near the movie theater and Disney Quest.
There is so much going on at once, you don't know where to look. The acrobatics and stunts that are performed are sometimes beautiful, sometimes breath taking, sometimes funny, and sometimes unbelievable.
We both that this show was excellent, and if I return with my son, I'll be taking him there as well. Prices are a little steep, but this show is over 90 minutes and well worth the time and money. It's a spectacular event, and something that leaves you in awe.
We had ideal seating, and I booked it months in advance. It took me awhile to find the seats that I wanted, but after going to the show, honestly, there really aren't any bad seats. We were the first row in the second section, just a little off the center area. We were quite pleased with our location.
I'd have to say through it all, the running up the walls is my favorite part! It was so awesome to watch. All of it was so incredible to see! This is a must see if you go to the Orlando area.
One more sneak peek at the new comedy show from Monsters, Inc. This is a new attraction at Walt Disney World. This was taken in line while waiting to go into the show. For those concerned about seating, the benches are open bench seating, hard plastic, and aisles are wide.
To read more about the show, read the post below.
Do you recognize Mike from Monsters, Inc? There is a new attraction opening this spring at Walt Disney World, and while we were walking by, they were doing a special showing of it, and then did a survey at the end to see how people liked it! I snapped a picture while waiting in line, then got scolded for no pics. You get a sneak peek here too!
It's a comedy act on screen, and they use audience members in the experience as well. The show ran about 10-15 minutes and we had a lot of laughs. We enjoyed it a lot. It's the type of show I'd see once though, and then I wouldn't have to revisit it every time i went back.
What was really cool, is at the end, to thank us for our time answering the survey, they gave everyone in the room a free fast pass to any ride of our choosing!
Look for this new show coming to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom this spring. It's right next to Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin!
You'll enjoy the experience, and is fun for all ages.
Can you guess what famous ride this is from? I'll give you a clue...it's in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Do you need a clue? It plays a song while you're on it...Give up?
"It's a Small World"
This is my kind of town...where else can you see a Miss Piggy fountain? Actually, this was taken at Walt Disney's MGM Studios. I love all the shows you can see here, and the feel of this park. We saw a stunt show with cars and the Indiana Jones show, Muppet Vision, and a few others.
Miss Piggy rocks!
Disney Online has updated their website, and one of the options is that you can create your own fairy. I went through the process and created the fairy above in less than 10 minutes. This is a great activity that little girls will really enjoy. You are given the option to change the cothing, hair, skin tone, shoes, and accessories. It then names the fairy, of you can choose a different name. It's an easy to use platform, that will have little girls delighting in their own creation in no tme at all. Your child can then save the creation and use it on the site, or start over and create another one. You need to sign into the site, but it is a free log-in.

I stood in an incredible short line, or so I thought. There was only one person in front of me, so it seemed like the best line to get in. This didn't happen to be my lucky day as the woman in front of me at World of Disney was "something unique"...
During this experience, something interesting came about. She was trying to use a "Disney Store" coupon at "World of Disney"...and they said NO. They tried to explain politely that they were not the same company and they couldn't take "Disney Store" coupons. Hmmmm...The woman went on to read the fine print....and "World of Disney" was on it...or so it seemed.
It turns out they are NOT owned by the same company and with changes in effect they could not accept this coupon. Okay, I got it, can't use coupon, make a decision, buy the stuff without the coupon or don't. Nope, I wasn't that lucky.
She continued to freak out about this. Okay, now maybe I was impatient as the sweltering heat just seemed to be getting more out of control...but lady, you're here on a trip...is that 10% going to make or break you? Take your darn product and buy it or GET OUT of the line...and put it back. Nope, we had to get a manager who again explained that "Disney Store" and "World of Disney" store are NOT one in the same company...
So before you head to Disney with coupons in hand, take note...not the same company and your coupon just may not work. Remember the people behind you in line....

Disney World Raised Ticket Prices and Confusion Levels
Disney World ticket prices increased over the weekend. Theme park still a great value, even though customers are caught off guard by latest price increase.
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) August 10, 2006 –- Walt Disney World’s decision to raise prices last week affected many more people than just visitors to the Orlando theme parks. Discount Disney ticket resellers are feeling the crunch as vacation travelers are spending a lot of time trying to sort through the confusion on the web. “We’ve come to expect the yearly increase from the theme parks, but Disney came back for a second helping this year,” says Don Rogers, manager of Billy Boys Discount Tickets and Travel. Their website, Ticket Momma, is one of the more established discount ticket resellers on the internet and even they are not immune to the confusion. “Families looking for discount tickets are having trouble. When Disney raises their prices, it takes weeks for all of the websites that sell their product to get caught up and adjust their online prices. So shoppers are confused when they see many different gate prices and frustrated when they try to order from some of the companies that are in the middle of the price change.”
While finding someone to offer you a discount ticket is not hard, trusting one can be. Legitimate companies have to fight the stigma of timeshare presentations and fly-by-night operations who are selling so-called “dirty tickets” or tickets that have been partially used but still have vacation time left on them. The practice of selling used theme park tickets is against the law in the state of Florida. “Authorized discount ticket resellers can save a family $100-$200 or more on their Disney World tickets. That’s a significant savings,” Rogers mentions. “That really adds up for a family of four or five. Add in a dinner show discount or other Orlando attraction and the savings really add up. But getting people to understand that you are not requiring a timeshare presentation or that it doesn’t matter where you live is a constant challenge for us. We’ve tried to make it as convenient as possible to understand all of the options on our website. The parks are a great value, even at the new prices. If you buy some of the longer stay tickets (5 day, 6 day, 10 day), the price of the parks is less than $4 per hour. That’s cheaper than a movie. We’re just trying to add even a little more to the value.”
While theme park attendances are near some of their highest levels, many travelers continue to buy their attraction tickets at the gate and pay full price in the process. They are either unaware of the savings available to them or they are uneasy about buying from someone other than the actual theme park. Rogers continues, “Having been here for 25+ years, I’ve seen a lot of ticket sellers come and go. You can’t just look at a ticket and tell if it is even valid. You’d have to be crazy to just buy from someone walking up to you in a hotel lobby offering “too good to be true” prices. Being a full featured travel agent, we hope people understand the packages we can help them build.”
Rogers and the staff at Ticket Momma will continue to keep the most current and up-to-date pricing available on their website and hope that the vacation traveler can see through all of the smoke.
