I Get to See My Girl Cass!

I'm quite excited. I'm going to get another visit with my friends Cass and Nellie. Last year, right around May or June, I drove down to North Carolina to spend time with my friend Cass. She was such a comfortable person to be around, and I really enjoyed her company.

This year, one of our vacation spots is about an hour from her home. She's coming to meet us one day, and we're going to get to hang out, have some fun, some lunch and laughter.

Know what's even cooler? I get to see her AGAIN in September! We'll both be at a conference together, and even though we're states apart, it will be the third time we get to hang out! How fun is that?

Cass....can't wait!

What Now?

I'm pretty much stuck. If you know how to lose weight, I'm up to hear what's worked for you. With the workouts I've been doing, and healthy eating I've been doing, I didn't end up where I had thought I would. My body shape has definitely changed, and I'm grateful for that, but honestly, my weight is right where it was 9 months ago! Even with all the cardio and weights, and even with eating clean.

My insulin resistance has me on medication, and I'm hoping that will finally start the engines again. I don't know, but I'm about ready to give up. Don't get me wrong, I'll keep moving, and eating better than I used to, but I'm pretty much coming to terms that I may stay this size for longer than I anticipated.

What's frustrating, is knowing that if my body responded like most people, I could have been down about 50 pounds by now!

Baby Jack is Doing Great

Baby Jack is getting along really well with the other dogs. He still gives the cat a bit of chase, but the cat seeks him out sometimes! I think Sebastian misses when Gracie used to chase him.

We're adjusting to our fuller household, and we've all ready started some nice patterns that are working well. Right now, the latest thing we're working on is his independence. He likes to be right near you, and that's great. When he goes outside, he doesn't like being out by himself. If one of the other dogs is out, he's happy...or if you go sit out with him.

For the first time the other day, he was content to go out, do his business all alone, and then come back in. It was a good step. Usually, Buster likes to go out a lot, so the two of them together is a good match. We've been pretty much going out each time to encourage and tell him he's doing good when he goes outside. While he's potty trained, it's a new environment, so the encouragement has helped him understand here too.

He's inching his way towards a little independence each day, and that's good, because it makes for a healthy dog. He's a snuggler and cuddly guy, so we're happy when he jumps up to snuggle while we watch TV.

He still currently follows me anywhere I go, even if someone else is in the room. Yesterday, he was content to stay on my husband's lap while I went to get a shower. That was good. He used to sit outside the shower waiting for me. Little steps at a time. :)

Memory, Space and the Likes

Memory is ram right? I know with my computer, but what about things like iPods or smart phones? Do they have ram? I know my iPod Nano has 2gb of space, but honestly, those things just confuse me. I have 12 audiobooks and 30 songs currently on my iPod. I can fit more, but it depends on the sizes of the files. If I download my audio books in format 4, it takes more space, but in format 3, the quality is still good and it takes less space.

I'm glad my husband knows all about memory, computers, networks and the like. To be quite honest, I'm more of a software girl, and he handles the hardware side of our computers. I can spin circles around him online and with programs and the internet, but ask me about any hardware issues, and I'll look at you with a lovely helpless manner!

I'm Not Good at Keeping Surprises!

I try. I really do, but when I get excited, I just bubble over with anticipation!

I have a really cool surprise for my son, and I'm trying really hard not to say anything. I have a particular time when I'd like to tell him, and it's only a little over a week away. My biggest goal right now is keeping my mouth shut!

We're going on vacation, and I booked something REALLY COOL, and I can't tell him...yet!

Don't worry, if it's an important secret, I can keep those. I respect that stuff...this is just something fun I planned, and he has NO idea!

Milk Toast and Hardware

I think my husband is thinking of painting while my son and I are on vacation. We had picked out paint for him to possibly do the bedroom, but he was looking at the living room yesterday. We decided on a beige-almond color called Milk Toast. If we carry it into the foyer, we may want to replace the door hardware and lighting in the hallway as well. We're slowly updating the house room by room.

We'll also be updating my bathroom sometime soon. We repainted the sink vanity and walls a few years ago to hold it over, but it's going to need a total update, since it's in the lovely avocado green of the 70's, and such.

Sometimes, a simple change like updating cabinetry, or even just the hardware can make a difference. If you're looking for door hardware changes, consider looking through the Schlage store at DoorHardwarePlus.com. With a full selection, you can upgrade in no time.

I've Returned from the Brink of Death

...okay, maybe not the edge, truly the edge, but I've recovered from this nasty sinus and eye infection! I just felt like death warmed over for over a week now. 10 days of nasty-fluid-filled YUCK!

Have you missed me darlings?

I can get back to talking about life, living, the freaking heat and an a/c compressor! Okay, maybe the A/C isn't the problem, and hot flashes are, but really, what's a woman in her 40's to do? The air is running, I have fans going, and still I overheat at moments! Yes, yes, I said in my 40's. I've graduated from being 40, to being in my 40's! My birthday, heck, my birthday week was met with infection, but I've healed and I'm ready to celebrate!

On a side note, saw "Get Smart" yesterday, and was prepared with cough drops, JUST IN CASE...and yes, I needed two, but that's besides the point. It's only when I start laughing hard that I go into spasms of coughing...but I'm no longer a contagious beast. I've been smothered in antibiotics and such, so have no fear. Cute and fun family movie...hurry, go see it. Steve Carrell rocked that role!

I'm a Crappy Patient

Let me be brutally honest for a moment.

As a patient, I suck. Seriously, I'm whiny like a little girl...I complain about taking my medicine, and I am moody and get bored of it easily. I crawl from the bed to the rocking chair to my computer chair, and I make sure anybody who is in 10 feet from me knows how miserable I am at the moment.

When I feel better, I wipe the slate clean, and I'm happy, go lucky, cheerful, radiant and absolutely a positive energy person. Sick...yeah, the polar opposite.

I'm the person you don't want to be near when I don't feel good. Not that I'm trying to take you down, I just feel like if you're near me, and know how bad I feel, maybe, just maybe an ounce of me will feel better.

Trust me, I know that nobody likes a complainer...I know...I can't help myself. :( I turn into a pile of mush, and for some reason...I sulk, and I sulk a lot. Man, I can't stand myself this way.

Boating Needs

I was just reading that a whale beached itself in Brant Beach in Long Beach Island. It was over 16 feet long and weighed over 3,000 pounds. Another whale had beached itself in December, but both of these circumstances are quite unusual for LBI.

Long Beach Island is known for great fishing, but whales are not something one expects to see in this area. When we were down the shore in early June, one of the things we enjoyed doing at night was driving down to the Barnegat Lighthouse at night and watching the sunset. It was nice to see all the boats coming and going through the inlet that attaches the bay to the ocean.

If you are a boater, you can find marine and boating supplies at AmericanMarineSupply.com. They have everything from nautical gifts to boat covers, maritime clocks, to engine parts and more. If you go to their site right now, you'll see they have a monthly special that saves you close to $200 on an inflatable canoe!

One of the great things is the easy navigation of the site. If you scroll to the bottom, you can see things listed in categories, or you can use the navigation bar on the left. Say you're looking for nautical jewelry, you can sort through and find yellow and white gold choices ranging from pendants to bracelets, rings to earrings. It's that easy to find what you're looking for.

If it's engine parts that you need, click on the link and you'll have a choice of alternators, batteries and accessories, along with things like pumps, manuals, propellers and more. You'll find pretty much anything you can think of, and all at fair pricing. You don't even have to pay sales tax, unless you're in Pennsylvania, and that saves you money right there. Also, if you place an order over $200, you get free shipping and handling.

AmericanMarineSupply.com is your one stop nautical supply shop.

It Calls for Different Plans

We had a nice week lined up. We were going to see 1 or 2 new movies, maybe go out a few times, and generally be having fun. Yeah, that stopped dead in it's tracks. I'm hoping I'm okay by Thursday of Friday to at least sneak in one movie.

We made it to GameStop yesterday after the doctor's office, so my son has a new game he's happy to be playing. I just was looking forward to hanging out, and all I'm doing is sitting half passed out on my rocking chair. :( No fun.

It's life, what are you going to do? At least he's set up with his computer, video games and such. I just had anticipated going out a little more.

The most outside time I'm seeing is putting the dogs out to go potty. Oh yeah, party in my backyard. I'm crashed out on a chair for a few minutes then come back inside. At least it's a change of scenery. The drive to the doctor's office was nice...ahhh, fresh air for a few minutes.

I've watched more TV than I thought was humanly possible. I'm NOT a big TV person....this week, oh my gosh...too much! Let me just say, daytime television sucks royally.

Helping the Bottom Line

Our incoming income has changed recently, and what that means is it's time to get on a budget. We need to sit down and see what money is going where, and what gets paid when. We'll shift and change, as we always do. With contracting work, you get used to the changes in salary. When it comes to the two of us, we'll be able to easily see where we can make changes.

If you're a business who is looking at a budget, you may want to consider PROPHIX which offers budget software to help you look at your bottom line. In our family, we can make tiny changes which will add up, and in business, it's the same type of thing. Small changes can add up, and effect your bottom line. When you can see where you're spending, you can better plan and find ways to make better use of your resources.

1 For the Money, 2 for the Show

Yes, jokes on me...

I woke up with 2 pink eyes today. Yesterday 1, today 2.

I've got drops for my eyes, nasal spray for my congestion and antibiotics for this sinus infection. I'm a walking time bomb of infection today. Not a happy camper, I can tell you that. I'm trying to not be whiny, but it's getting hard. I've felt like crap since Thursday, and today is Tuesday. Today is worse than when it started! No fair...

Hoping the medicine kicks in soon, so I can be a normal person again...this infection crap is not my style!

People Like to Stay Connected

I was just checking out the condo we'll be staying at in South Carolina. It doesn't look like there's internet available, but I'm hoping maybe there will be a WiFi hot spot somewhere along the way. When I was down the shore, the home was supposed to have internet, and they had it hooked up, but never created an account! I ended up using the neighbors internet to get online. Don't worry, I wasn't slowing them down. There were no neighbors there, since we were off season. In the 6 houses around us, they were all empty, since we went in early June.

More and more people travel with laptops, and doing something as simple as adding internet service to your rental property is something that people are looking for. Did you know you could pick up a KVM Switch over at Blackbox.com, and then you can share CPUs with one keyboard or monitor! Okay, so you don't have to get fancy, but get that internet hooked up, so travelers have easy access. I'm telling you, it's a total asset at this point. People like to stay connected, so get to it!

What's Up With Your Eye?

Huh?

That's what it sounded like at my house this morning. I hadn't yet looked into the mirror to see that my right eye was now a pretty shade of pink. Yup, pink eye, conjunctivitis. Oh yeah, just another fun moment being me.

Finally went over to the doctor today. Got antibiotics, eye drops and nasal spray. Hopefully, I'll be feeling like myself again in a few days. I'm feeling generally, oh how should I say it....crappy. Blah..

/whining mode done (for now)

Happy Birthday to Me

I woke with laryngitis and a sinus infection!

What a lovely birthday gift, eh?

Anyway, I rolled up onto 41 today....other than the yucky feeling of being sick, life is good.

Getting Hold of the Beast

One of my many domains was coming up for renewal. I decided to cancel it, since I'm not using it as I'd hoped to. I could have kept it, hoping it would gain value, but it was pretty site specific. Right now, I'm looking at monthly bills, and trying to see where I can cut back. This upcoming renewal wasn't a huge amount, but then again it was more than I wanted hitting my credit card right now.

Since our incoming income has changed this year, I'm trying to be more careful with spending. I'm looking at things that bill automatically and deciding if I want to continue them all. I decided as much as I love my Sirius online radio, I get free commercial free radio through my digital box, and that saves me another almost $14 each month. It doesn't sound like a lot alone, but when you add up all your extra small bills, you realize that each month, you're paying more than you think about. You sometimes overlook those small bills.

We're getting back to using glasses, coffee cups, regular plates and silverware. We've fallen into the convenience trap, and are spending a lot on those extras. When we went to Costco this week, by not buying the disposable cups and hot cups, we saved $22 and are making a better choice for the environment. We're finding some generic brands that work just as well as others. It's trial and error.

One of my big concerns is with credit cards. I need to limit the amount going onto my cards that isn't necessary. My balance creeps up, and before you know it, you're debt is climbing. Right now, my goal come September is to pay off my credit cards. Due to vacations, I need to use that money for spending at this point on the trips.

With me going back to school in the fall, it becomes a perfect time to focus on that debt. Everything I make will go to paying those balances down. The other thing I'm doing is using sites like CreditCardsClub.com and looking at different types of cards. I've considered either looking at 0% balance cards, or using reward cards. Right now, I'm not getting anything out of my regular cards.

Take for instance at CreditCardsClub.com you can look at cards based on your needs. If you're looking for a lower interest card, cards for poor credit, or reward cards, they make it really easy. Everything has it's own category, so navigation is really easy. You can easily check out a credit card rating over at CreditCardsClub.com

I'm thinking a lower interest card would help me more than the 0% balance transfer, because on many, as soon as you start spending on it, that stops. I need to read the fine print of each card. I have monthly expenses of web hosting and other things, that will continue to go on my cards. Low interest may be right up my alley. Honestly, one of my cards is charging me too much interest!

The other thing I noticed is they have a business credit card section. I keep thinking it would make more sense to have all my business expenses on one dedicated card, rather than stretched between two regular cards. I have some serious thinking to do this summer. It's time to get on this credit debt, especially with the change in our income.

Girl, You're in Denial

My husband says I'm in denial. I don't think I'm getting sick...really.

Okay, so maybe my throat is scratchy and closing up...maybe it's from the cat sleeping close to my face last night in bed.

Okay, so maybe I sound raspy...maybe it's my new sexy voice suddenly maturing.

Either way, I don't think I'm getting sick.

Seriously, the body aches...I was at the gym Monday and today (working hard, might I add).

He looks at me, shakes his head and says..."Girl, you are in denial".
FINE, be that way!

Come on, I'm super tired because the new dog is waking me early. My voice, eh, that's nothing, and the cough I'm starting with...ummm, ummm, well, must be the lousy air quality! Yeah, that's the ticket.

By the way, I do want to add, that the lady we saw out today....40 dressing like your 20, and NOT pulling it off...SHE was clearly in denial!

Without Any Warning

Being a parent, one of the things I worry about is that something might happen to me. I worry about the way it would affect my children. When something sudden occurs, suddenly you've run out of time to say the things you wanted to say, teach things you wanted to teach, and do those special things you've wanted to do.

I lost my father unexpectedly, and I know the tragedy of a sudden, unexpected loss. Did you know that over 300,000 people die each year from Sudden Cardiac Arrest? If you break that down, that is almost 100 people a day.

When Sudden Cardiac Arrest occurs, there is no warning. That's a scary thought, so I'm doing what I can to make sure I'm healthy as I continue to age. I work out regularly, and I'm trying to eat better.

If you go to InsideCardiacArrest.com, you can see two videos which explain not only the heart and how it works, but what Sudden Cardiac Arrest is. It's in everyday language, which means no big medical words, but easy to understand information. You can also find other important things like warning signs, risk factors and more.

Do you have an abnormal heartbeat? Is it a warning sign? You can learn this and so much more at InsideCardiacArrest.com. It's presented by St. Jude Medical which means you know the information is well researched, well documented and supported.

Did you know that if you live in certain states, you're at a higher risk of having a sudden cardiac arrest? Go to their site to see if your state is listed.

North, South or Central Jersey?

There's a line drawn between North and South Jersey, but we're all Jersey girls and guys. Jersey has a unique quality about it. As soon as you say you're from Jersey, people think they have an idea of who you are, or what you'll be like.

Last night we caught an episode of Split Ends, and the Jersey guys on the show made me laugh. They are true to the idea a lot of people have, but my husband and I said...man, they're really more "North Jersey" near the city. Closer you get to the city, the more you'll get that "Jersey accent and talk".

Where I live in Central Jersey, we don't sound like that, and we don't talk like that.

Go to South Jersey, and you're close to Philly. North Jersey, closer to NY City...

Central Jersey...not close to anything. Okay, maybe Trenton, but come on...it's like a blip on a map.
Central Jersey folk are sort of like middle America soccer Moms and Dads. We don't have that thick accent, we don't all look like Guido and Theresa with big poufy hair and hairspray, and we don't all think or say bada-bing or think oh, Jersey/Sopranos.

We're not the north or south...we're sort of our own thing. The dividing line is funny. Some people say below Trenton is South Jersey, some people divide it by a highway, 95, 295 or 78. How do you divide Jersey?

I don't consider myself North Jersey or South Jersey...I'm Central Jersey baby, and while I'm Jersey fresh, I'm not your typical Jersey girl! (or what other people think a Jersey girl is!)

Where Would You Choose to Retire?

I love to travel. I do it often, and I am always open to seeing new things. Last year when we drove to Florida we traveled the back way. We didn't do the traditional I-95 Route, but decided to do a more scenic route. During the drive, we go the joy of riding through Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, right by Skyline Drive. As we drove through the area, we were talking about how gorgeous it must be to wake up and see that scenery on a regular basis. That led to discussions of where we might want to retire. Of course, we never fully come to an answer!

Anyway, if you love the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, I've got something to tell you about. If you've been looking for waterfront community living in a scenic and incredible area, consider Smith Mountain Lake, where you can check out The Coves. The first thing you need to do if you want to check out their website at CovesAtSML.com is go to their gallery of images! The first thing that comes to my mind is serene! This is the kind of natural beauty I'd love to be around on a regular basis.

Another thing you'll want to look at is their Master Plan, so you can not only see pricing, but what amenities are included, along with lots and lot size. You'll see walking trails, where future development will be, along with the community docks and the lakefront clubhouse. There are still properties left, but they are selling fast. Lots 1,2, 3 and 10 would probably be my first choice! What about you? If you'd like to check out their activities, you can read about fishing, boating and golfing.

The other thing to check out is the location. With being only 35 miles from Roanoke, Virginia, you're within driving distance to a major city for work, unless of course you're retiring, or this is a vacation home. For more information and details, go to CovesAtSML.com.

School's Out!

My son's last day of school was today. He's a happy camper!

Being the smarty pants mom I can be, I sent him a text message this morning. It went something like this:

Happy last day of school. Only 78 more days until school starts! Love, Mom

Ah, yes...I smiled big when I sent the message. :) ha

Anyway, he's happy to be off and will be working on some projects that he enjoys. I get him here for about 5 weeks this summer, so we'll be happy to have him here for more than weekends. A week at a time is a nice stretch, and during July we have a 2 week trip together!

When did your kids get out of school? Locally, this is about normal, but some of my friends have kids that got out in May!

Shake it Up Baby!

When it comes to things like flashlights, they really aren't used very often in our home. When we finally do get around to needing them, the batteries are pretty drained, since they've been sitting on a shelf for awhile.

That's why I love the idea of a flashlight that you shake for power. They don't require batteries, and are great for emergency situations. Imagine it being an emergency, and that's when the batteries die on your traditional flashlight. With the Shake LED Flashlight, you just shake it for a minute, and you end up with 30 minutes of light! They use 3 LED bulbs that shine white and bright.

These are the same flashlights that were recently featured in Oprah's magazine, "O at Home".

This is a great idea, and would make a perfect gift for everyone you know. No more having to worry about dead batteries.

If you go to EcoGeekLiving, and check out the flashlights, you can see a comparison of this LED shake flashlight and others. There is a chart and you can see how long others last, what types of bulbs are used, and what color it shines. What surprised me was a couple of the competing flashlights shine blue, not white! I want bright light, not blue light! When I'm ready to buy, I'll be getting the Shake LED Flashlight, which goes for under $20, and lasts a full 30 minutes on 1 minute of shaking. What about you?

Baby Jack has Energy!

Baby Jack has tons of energy! It's an adjustment for our family, but it's a good one. It's getting our lazy bottoms moving a bit more. He's keeping us on our toes, and I'll be honest, while it's different than what I'm used to, I love it.

It's like having a toddler in the house.

The funny thing is when he plays, he's 100% in play mode. When he's in sleep mode, he's in 100% sleep mold. You can move him and mold him like bubble gum, and he'll just go back to sleep! It's so funny. He loves to sleep on our laps when we're on the rocker-recliners.

The dogs (big dog, little dog) are adjusting and have done pretty well. Little Dog has a few reservations, but they are getting along well enough. They aren't mean to each other, but lazy little dog doesn't want to be bothered some times.

Regardless, this little guy with boundless energy has brought a spark of excitement to our home. We are couch potatoes no more!

Bloodwork Blues

I'm frustrated and torn. I got my results back on some tests, and they weren't what I anticipated.

It's nothing tragic, but disappointing none the less.

Lots of work, and not a lot of benefits coming out of it for me right now.

At what point do you say....this isn't working? I haven't figured out that answer as of yet.

Bumpy Outlook Ahead

God help me, I look like I could use an acne treatment! I hate hormonal breakouts. I'll be 41 this week, and I'm still scrambling with hormonal acne. You'd think having your skin care license would help matters. Yeah, well, the reality is, hormonal acne is hormonal acne. Sure I can do certain things to lessen it, or do things after it occurs, but if it wants to come out; out it comes!

My poor jaw line and chin are not looking great this week. I know that in a few days the evidence will all be gone, but will lurk around the corner next month too.

Of course having Rosacea, I'm my own worst client, because I always want to be out in the sun, which always aggravates the condition. Great, smooth skin or play in the sun in the summer? Sometimes I choose one over the other, but at some point I always choose the sunshine, and regret it later.

Extra Time

I'm excited. I get my son for an extra week this summer. That's a nice treat. Should I be flattered? Heck no, it's not about me! LOL It's about Jack. He is excited to hang out with him more. We have a nice summer planned so I'm looking forward to it.

We're taking a trip in July, (don't worry, hubby is home with the menagerie of pets) and a short trip in August.

When you're a divorced family, you get used to split summers. I usually have him for 4 weeks in the summer, but this summer I have 5. I'll take what I can get. :)

Birthday Ideas

Father's Day is Sunday, but more importantly, my birthday is this week! I'm sure you're off checking out great ideas for my birthday, but alas, it just isn't necessary. I just added a great little dog to our family, so there's no need for anything else.

Of course if you insist, you can always check out the weekly sale page over at Buy.com. They have an IBM ThinkPad on sale for $399.99 this week! If you have a smaller budget, you could pick up some noise isolating headphones for only $19.99. I'm not picky, because all of the great deals at Buy.com are awesome. Can you say Logitech QuickCam Deluxe for my laptop? Priced at only $40.00 with a big rebate, you pay only $10.00 after that rebate!

No, no, I insist, I don't need anything new. Well, maybe an external hard drive would be cool. Okay, I've got it; I know what I want! I want the new baby dog to sleep in a little later! Can you work that out for me?

Jack or JJ the Wonder Dog

jj3 Last picture for awhile...I'm pretty well pictured out for today. I know people take tons and tons of pictures. To me 3 or 4, and I'm done! LOL Oh well, guess I'm not the picture taking maven I once was....or jeez, was I ever really? Eh, who knows We'll be heading out to play shortly. :) Have a great day!

July Travels

I had such a good time down at the shore in June. It was totally relaxing. I have another type of trip coming up in July. This time my son and I are going to be doing Florida for a couple days, then South Carolina.

I've been to Orlando multiple times, and South Carolina, I've been to, just not Myrtle Beach. I'm glad to try out a new place. We tend to go to the same places for vacations mostly, and I'm thinking it's time to stretch my wings a little bit.

Take for example when I went to Sedona, it was something totally different! It wasn't my regular vacation, and showed me a totally different type of area. I really loved it out there. We will be stopping over in Hilton Head for a day before moving on to Myrtle Beach. I'm excited because I've heard good things about it. I hope to explore a little bit, and maybe consider it for a future vacation.

I'm used to Jersey beaches mostly, though I've been to Outer Banks, Tampa, Galveston, and Virginia Beach, so I'm ready to see how it is in South Carolina. I was over at a website DestinationVacationHHI.com the other day, looking at the Sea Pines rentals, along with other information. I like to get an idea about the area I'm looking at. I also enjoy Trip Advisor to read other people's information. I do have a vacation club, and we have three places we can choose from out there, so I'll be looking forward to see what I think when we visit in July for the day. Wish I had more time to explore, but we're moving up to Myrtle Beach from Orlando, so this is just a halfway point for us.

Jack

jj2.JPG

Big Mac Jack Attack

He's sleeping, curled up in a small bed near my feet.

I've fallen in love with a little dog, and I can't get up!!!

Jack is adapting well to the household, and he's just a total love. Watching him is so much fun. When he gets rolling around with one of his toys, I just start laughing. He's also doing well adjusting to the other pets, though he gives the cat a chase once in a while. They've been nose to nose a few times and do well...but if the cat runs, it's time for a chase! It's okay, Grace used to do it sometimes until she got bored too....they get used to one another in time.

He's still adjusting to the noises of the house, or outside...so if he hears something he isn't used to, he jumps up to check it out. He's been really a delightful addition to our home.

We are going to enjoy having him here with us.

Panda Time and Zohan Mess

Okay, so there are two movies that came out....I want to see both of them.

My son decided he was too old to see Kung Fu Panda, so my husband has been kind enough to offer to take me. My son and I both want to see Zohan, but I was reading the reviews today...and everyone says it should be an R movie, not a PG-13. Technically, he's old enough to see it himself...it's not about his age. It's about Mom being embarrassed to watch this movie with him. All the reviews I read said it pushes the line non-stop.

I have no problem see Zohan myself, but I told my son I'd take him last week. Problem is, I'm backtracking after reading the user reviews...he could go with friends, his brother, his dad...but as his mom, well...geez...awkward.

I may go see it myself first and make my own decision, but it's not looking good.

Car Loan Time? Not Sure

Our Jeep is getting up there in age and mileage. It's our errand car, and dog car and not our main mode of transportation. The problem is that now the air can only be on at full blast, and my window doesn't open and shut on my side due to a short. My husband can open it from his side still.

I see our aging Jeep and think it's time to grab a Car Loan and trade this baby in. My husband is quite attached to this car though, and car loans are the furthest thing from his mind.

Car loans don't have to be a regular loan through your bank. Did you know I've actually gotten a loan online in the past? I bought a car that way! It saved me money in interest, so I was a happy camper. Maybe if he checks out Online Car Loans he won't be as hesitant.

At BasicCarLoans.com, you can find a car loan service that is not only national, but it also can help customers who have both good credit, as well as poor credit. You'll find used car loans, refinances, as well as new car loans. It doesn't cost anything to apply, and you can apply right over the computer.

Summer Changes at Home

My husband is off for the summer. This means my daily pattern, my daily agenda, and my general day to day existence is changing a bit. It's always an interesting flux trying to get into pattern with each other. Usually it's just me and the dogs hanging out...

This is not a bad thing, it's just a getting used to a daily change thing. My lunches, breakfast, computer habits and such will all shift a little bit. It's funny when you don't even realize your pattern, until it's interrupted!

It's going to be like a weekend....all summer long! We'll work it out just fine; we always do.

Summer Traveling Fool

I came home from a week at the shore yesterday. It was relaxing and wonderful.

In July, my son and I are going on quite an adventure. We'll be heading to Orlando for a few days, then driving up to South Carolina. We'll make a pit stop in Hilton Head, and then move on to Myrtle Beach! It will be a fun-filled trip, and a long one. When it's all said and done, it will be about 2 weeks long.

The thing is, I'm looking at booking a small midweek August trip. We've been going to Wildwood for our small August trip for the last 3 years, but this year, we're thinking of doing something a little different. The problem is, he's more excited than I am for the place we talked about.

I decided I couldn't possible do 3 days at the lake where we'd be going. I'm an ocean girl, sorry...no waves, little fun for me, unless there's a jet ski involved. Anyway, I did some digging, and there are some neat little places we can go. I'm thinking I can stretch out the trip between a few places. Drive up to the main place, then on the drive back, stop at 2 destinations for some fun in the sun.

With gas prices, I'm trying to decide if it's cheaper to hit Wildwood, which is a great, busy family spot, or drive up. When it comes down to what I'll be spending at both, including hotels, entertainment, and such, it pretty much equals out. I could check all the market research in the world, but when it comes down to it, I know he really wants to go to this one spot. I'll give in and end up going. I'm sure I'll have a good time, once we get going. It's just not on the top of the list of "where I want to go".

On the other hand, he's a teen, and he'll be getting a summer job soon enough, and having time for mom will be a thing of the past. I guess that decides it for me! Man, time passes too quickly.

Another Project in the Works?

I'm sitting here debating a plan for the summer. I'll be starting school in September, so if I'm going to take on another large project during summer, I want it to be complete by then. I've got quite a few websites, and I'm thinking of adding yet one more. It would be a big one. Do I do it? Maybe, maybe not...

I'm debating if I've got the passion and zest to do it the way it should be done. It's easy to just keep things as they are, but when it comes down to it, I need growth. I want sites to work for me, not the other way around. I know what I should be doing, it's just building up the excitement to get started!

I'm still working on a few others, expanding, changing, growing them...and here I am, about to take on another monster project. Eh...maybe I'll wait a little bit longer.

Disney Concerts in Wildwood, Coming Soon

If you have kids, Wildwood just may be in your plans this summer. Last summer, I took my son to see Weird Al while we were in Wildwood. We may be heading down for a short stay in August, but nothing is set in stone yet, since we're also looking at New Hampshire. I haven't made a final decision.

Anyway, if your kids love Disney Radio, you'll want to know about the Radio Disney Concert Series that will be hitting Morey's Pier in July. I don't have to tell you how cool Morey's Pier is, if you're familiar with Wildwood. It's huge with rides, water rides, and well with the boardwalk, you've got so much to do you'll be overwhelmed with fun!

The concerts are FREE, so make sure you mark your calendar. You'll be able to catch them July 7th, 13th and 21st. They're going to be set up right at Morey's Pier. As you know, they have more than one, so make sure to visit the Giant Ferris Wheel at Morey's Mariner's Landing Pier. You may want to get there a little early, because these are hot and popular stars! Show times are at 1 and 4 on these dates, but there's another set of dates you'll want to set on your calendar as well.

The weekend of July 26th, is the finale of the concerts. At the end of the boardwalk, over at the Convention Center Raven-Symone of "That's so Raven" will be taking over the stage at 2pm. There's a bonus...if you show your ticket to them at Morey's Pier, you can get discounts for the rest of your day of sun and fun. Hello, can you say Water Park and rides?

Back from the Shore, Swimming in the Heat

hot
steamy
smothering temperatures greeted us as we came home today...
actually, had we stayed, we were only 2 hours away, so it was at hot there also! ha

I'm home from the beach, and we had a fabulous and relaxing stay.

This week it just keeps getting better...we get our new family member on Tuesday. We'll be welcoming Jack into our household, the one year old Jack Russell I'm sure will bring some spunk with him. It will be curious to see how all the pets get about. There's usually an adjustment period, and as long as Queenie Grace knows she's still top dog, she'll be just fine. Boo gets along with everyone but his own shadow...the cat, well...we'll see. Grace gives him a playful chase, but it stops there...let's hope Jack does well also.

I'll be sharing a picture or two from the shore, but I didn't snap away a ton of shots. I did take two that stood out to me though.

It's always nice to be home.
