Blog Improvement

I was reading a series about about blog improvement on Problogger.net the other day. One of the questions it brought to my attention was "Who is your audience?" The follow-up to that was "Am I giving them what they're looking for?"

Heady questions to sit on...I have multiple blogs, so each time I ask myself a question like this, I have to apply it to my business blog, my health blog, along with my personal blog, and others.

I started out blogging 18 months ago on my first blog, and I wrote for myself. I wasn't writing for anyone in particular, but writing because I loved to express myself through the written word. Little did I know, a year and a half later, I'd have a bunch of blogs, and I'd think about things like building traffic to those journals.

While it was obvious to me who my audience was on my business blog, aimed at beginners in small business, I wasn't so sure who I was talking to over here at my personal blog SurvivingNJ.

I say what's on my mind, talk about things that are going on, and try to find humor in those day to day tasks, but maybe I'm missing my mark. It's a fine line to write for yourself, and to write for others.

I guess the question goes out to you, the reader...Is there something I'm missing? Do you find what you're looking for? A 40 something chick who blabbers on, or are you looking for the latest scoop on NJ? Do you like what you read and come back, or are you a first time reader, and thinking it's just not for you? Thanks in advance for anyone who leaves me their thoughts, since I only live in my head...and am not sure what others are thinking when they stop by and visit my blog.
