Big Dog's Turn in the Spotlight

gracie1.JPG

I just took this picture about 20 minutes ago. My girl keeps me company during the day. Betwen Little Dog (Buster Boo) and Big Dog (Gracie), I've got excellent company. Grace used to be a bigger ham, but lately, she's not grinning so much for the camera. It's okay, she's gorgeous whether she smiles or not.

Okay, I'm done writing for awhile here. I'll catch up with everyone over the weekend. Have a great Labor Day, and I hope you get to spend time with your family and loved ones.

My Son Likes to Spend My Money

So, my son keeps hinting, and not with subtle grace for Hawaii next vacation. He wants me to pay. Smile How nice of him. Anyway, he's been itching to go back after his last visit there. I tried to explain to him, going to Hawaii isn't like going to the Jersey shore. There's a little bit of a difference in price.  I'm 40, and I haven't been to Hawaii yet. He's 13, and he's been there and wants to go a second time! I told him when he turned 18, he could save his money and he could go as often as he wanted. I even offered to find him Hawaii Vacation Rentals.

Actually, I was over at Gebhart Properties, and honestly, if I could get msyelf on a plane, I'd go to Hawaii. I'm just not good at flying right now. I really would love to see the water in Hawaii. It's supposed to be crystal clear, and I'm sure it would be an amazing site for someone who has never seen water like that. Maybe I'll get there eventually. I keep going back to GebhartProperties.com and looking at their rentals, but when it comes down to it, it's the flight stopping me.

Time for Some Training?

I wrote to a personal trainer this week to get a list of their pricing. I haven't heard back yet, but we'll see if I hear back next week. If not, I'm moving on to look for another one. I hope I get some news soon, because I'm ready to try to push myself a little more, but I need help. I've been walking close to 3 miles about 4 times a week or so, and I'm just not sure where to go from here.

When it comes to nutrition, I'm about as far from the garden of life as I could be. Getting myself in line may help me overall, and she's registered with food too, a dietician or nutritionist I think. Either way, I guess I'll have to face my food obstacles sooner or later.

Gloves in a Bottle

gloves.JPG

I got a bottle of Gloves in a Bottle in the mail after requesting to sample it.  I'd heard good things about it in the past, and was finally able to try it. It's waterproof and bonds to the skin, so it comes off with your natural exfoliation.

About five minutes after putting it on my left foot (I put nothing on my right to see if I noticed a difference), I was amazed at how the bottom of my foot felt. It didn't feel tight anymore, which is usually does, because they are dry. It didn't feel like regular lotion though, it had a different feel to it, it was more ovbious that my foot felt better. The only way I can describe it is my foot felt "comfortable". Does that make sense? I'm used to the dry feeling, and when I put lotion on, it feels better, but it feels like lotion. There's dimethicone in this, so there's a silicon base that's going to help lock that moisture in. It's weird how fast I noticed the difference, but I did. I honestly didn't expect it to be much different than other lotions I use. I was wrong. I liket this stuff, and will continue using it.

Down Time or Sea World One More Time?

I was talking to my aunt today. She was mentioning I may want to look into annual passes for Disney if I'm planning on going again in the next year. It helps save money that way. The thing is, I never really plan on going back each time, and it just sort of happens! I may have to look into it.

We're going in November now, and one of the things I need to finally figure out is if we're going to need SeaWorld Tickets or not. I think I want to go there this next time, but my son is still up in the air about it. I'll ultimately make the decision, but we can't decide if we want to go to the park that day, or take a day to hang out, go golfing, swimming and the other types of activities that they offer. Taking a down day, might be more relaxing, but I do love Sea World. If I do go, I'll be buying my tickets from OrlandoFunTickets.com. They have great prices and tickets to all the attractions in Orlando.

Penn State football and Port Matilda Roads

It's that time again, Football Season! I'm an Eagles girl myself. I've never really been big into college football, though my husband follows his old school team, Rutgers sometimes. I remember when I was about 18 or so, I use to go up to State College a lot. I was engaged to someone who moved up there eons ago, and we all know long distance doesn't work so well. Anyway, he wasn't far from State College, so anytime there was a Penn State football game, the little 1 stop traffic light town would get way backed up! Port Matilda is a tiny town, and it would look funny seeing tons of traffic on football weekends, as opposed to regular days! What a difference a day makes, eh?

Little Dog Looks Little Today

Little dog is sleeping by my feet, and it's so cute. He's snoring softly and his little Buddha belly is going up and down. Sometimes I look at him, and he looks so little. Othertimes he looks big. I guess it's based on what he's next to. He's a beagle and weighs between 40-45 pounds. He's not a "little" little dog, but to me he's little, because Big Dog is 120 pounds.

Just sometimes he looks like a little baby sleeping there. So cute!!! Awwww

One Too Many Sweatshirts

I basically live in swet suits. I own one too many sweatshirts, and my husband thinks I need an extra closet just for my hoodies. What can I say? I love the comfort of sweatshirts. I've collected a lot over the years, so finally I made a big donation and got rid of about half of them. I donated a bunch of clothes to Goodwill and such. Now that I've donated a bunch, I'll be needing to find new ones! Don't tell him! Maybe instead of buying them at the store and tourist places, I should go somewhere like BoxingDepot.com and get Sweat Suits. They have different things and from Everlast, I can get stuff pretty cheap. Where do you find your favorite sweat suits?

Gel-Handle Brush

I got the coolest brush the other day. The handle has a gel handle. Oh my gosh, it's so cool to hold. It mushes under my hand. Did I need another brush? Nope, but once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down! I had to have it. I was in drying my hair earlier with the brush, and was going, "This is so cool"...it's such a simple concept, but it made me smile.

I dare you to pick one up...you won't be able to put it down

Melissa Gets the Squidoo Treatment

melissa.JPG

Hey, I just did a Squidoo on Melissa Etheridge today. It sure would be awesome if you could go visit it and give it a little time! You can find it here.... Melissa Etheridge

I've actually done a lot of new lenses, but this one and my Angie Jolie one are my latest. Two women I really like.

I've got lenses on anatomy, skin care, esthetics, blogging, business and a few other things too. Feel free to poke around. :)

Get Good Seats

We go to a lot of shows and concerts. I don't know about you, but live music is a lot of fun to go see, as are Broadway shows. We are at a nice location between New York City and Philadelphia to have plenty of options. I love that we have lots of major sporting teams around us as well. We're always able to grab tickets to a ballgame as well. I was thinking about picking up some NJ Devil tickets this year. We had fun last time we went to a Devils game.

If I go, I'm going to check out tickets at PremiumSeatsUSA.com, because last time, we got nosebleed seats, and I'm fine with that for seeing, but those steps were really steep at the top of the stadium! It was killer climbing all the way to the top. I got tickets last minute and we were the 2nd to the last row! I won't be doing that again. Next time I'll pay for great seats. It will be worth it!

I don't care if you are a Devils fan, want Dallas Cowboy tickets or Miami Heat tickets, when it comes to going to a sporting event, you don't want to pass out by the time you get to the top of the stadium!

Weekend Thoughts

We decided to go out for dinner tonight. We went to one of our regular places, and were there earlier than we usually go. It was empty! It was funny to see the differnce one hour makes.

Tomorrow I pick up my son, and he enjoys his last "free" weekend. School starts back up for him next week! He's not thrilled about it, but it will be fine once he gets into the pattern of it again. He's not a big fan of school, but I'm a big believer that schedules help you in general. It doesn't have to be a rigid schedule, but when you go to sleep the same time, wake up around the same time, your body does better.

I think we may see "Balls of Fury" this weekend. It's going to either be very stupid, or so funny because it's stupid. I'm hoping for the second!

Wow, Lots of Writing This Year

I just noticed I've got over 900 entries on this particular blog. That's pretty cool. That's a lot of writing! Take in mind, I have a network of blogs! In the last year or so, I've written more than I ever thought I would! I love to write, but when you see numbers, it's kind of neat. It gives you a measurement of sort. This actually started when I opened a blog on blogger. I decided instead of moving all my posts here, I would start fresh, but in the meantime, I kept the other one and still write on it! I have over 2,000 posts on that blog, and more than 1,000 on a second blogger blog I have. I have 7 more blogs on top of that! :) Lots of writing, eh?

Online Shopping

When I was walking yesterday, one of the things I noticed in a recycle pile was a box from an online drugstore. It had the company's logo on it. It got me thinking about how much stuff people buy online now. We've become a point and click society. If you don't have time to shop, you can shop online and have it delivered to your home. Maybe you're looking for better prices; I know I always am.

Take for instance my test strips for testing my blood sugars. Those can get expensive, so if I can find them online for less than in my local drugstore, I'm going to buy them there. I found AllegroMedical.com lately, and they have my strips for less than I'm paying now. They also sell lancets so I can get them all together. Actually, they have just about anything you can think of. They offer over 50,000+ home medical supplies! If you're looking to save money, check them out. I've been comparing prices, and they offer some great deals!

All FOUR One?

What's the chance?

I got an email today from my aunt asking for information about the shore around the weekend we're going. My sister is booked that weekend too at a different place. (total coincidence!) My mom has been talking about going to the shore in September too...

We were going to go for a quiet weekend, and it may end up being 4 couples all going the same time! LOL What's the chance....

I had to work around kennel arrangements, and made my arrangements based on fitting the dogs at the kennel. My sister had to work around her son's work schedule and her husband's. My aunt is working her daughter going back to college. Just timing I guess!

Movie Humor

We went out for lunch yesterday and also saw Superbad. I was so excited to see this movie, because it looked hillarious. Dont' get me wrong, it was a funny movie...but I think I'm getting too old for some of that humor. I just have been having a harder time enjoying those get drunk and try to have sex movies. I felt the same way after seeing Knocked Up. It was funny, just something was missing. The humor in things like Borat is more laugh out loud funny to me. Bad Santa had me laughing super hard, and my all time favorite movie is Something About Mary. I hate when I feel a little let down. We both left going, well, it was good, but well....it wasn't great. We both expected to laugh more.

Looking for a Job?

Are you looking for a new career? What industry do you work in? If you're working or looking to work in the legal field, accounting, risk management jobs, or other mid level to executive positions, then you'll want to head to AEFeldman.com. They place people with precision accuracy. They have an easy navigation system, you can search for a job by category, location or by keyword.

Searching for financial analysis jobs, they offered multiple choices! My husband is an analyst, I've told him to bookmark this site! Searching by location, you can pinpoint a particular region that you want to work in. They have a strong reputation for finding the right candidate for the job, and have been doing this since 1967!

Esthetician Book and Info

Now that the school season is back, my Esthetician Student book is starting to sell again. Summer was a little slow, but I'm hoping for a pick up now! My book Skin Care Student Q and A can be found over at SkinCareStudent.com.

You can also see my Squidoo lens on Esthetician information at Squidoo.com/esthetician

I've actually built a couple of lenses on skin care, mineral make-up and others. You can check them all out!

What are you waiting for? Spread the word!!!!

Creature Comforts

girl.JPG

You may have seen this picture before. It's my favorite picture of my girl. It cracks me up! She makes sure she's comfortable no matter where she goes. Even though she sleeps on our leather sofa, she also sleeps on the floor, in Buster's crate, either of the dog beds (yes, we have two), and on the bed. She's an equal opportunity sleeper!

I was just over at OhMyDogSupplies.com and could kick myself! We JUST bought a new dog mat for the crate last weekend, and we spent too much. At OhMyDogSupplies.com they are so much more affordable! I could have saved more than $10. off the price! I went to one of the big national chain pet stores in person, and paid too much. What I paid $40 for, OhMyDogSupplies.com has for $24.95! Now that I know about OhMyDogSupplies.com, I'm bookmarking!

I love the SUV dog mat too! We have been using a tarp, and it's getting on my nerves. I've been trying to talk my husband into trying something different. I've got to show him that! It's waterproof and stain resistant.

With Buster's Lyme Disease, his joints bother him on and off. When it was raining all this week, you could see the difference in him. He seemed achey, and hesitated before hopping up the steps to the living room. We have a raised living room, only 3 steps up, but when it's damp it becomes uncomfortable to him. I just saw they have orthopedic dog beds too!

If you're looking for dog supplies, they have a nice selection, and as you saw, good prices. I still can't believe I could have saved about $15.00 if I'd gone here first! Now you know! You learned from my mistake! Check out OhMyDogSupplies.com today and bookmark it! This post was brought to you by OhMyDogSupplies.com

Cleaning Through Pictures

I cleaned my files out this weekend. I decided I was going to go through my picture files on my computer and see exactly what I had on my computer! I had a lot of clip art I've collected over time. I dumped a lot of it. Once I've used it, I rarely reuse most of it. Some I kept, since they were more like icons. I have a lot of pictures of my dogs, and lots of pictures of the beach.

The funny thing is instead of having a regular labeling system, I have beach ones labled BH, WW, LBI, beach and stuff like that. I need to get better organized! I need to pick one name and stick with it!

The dogs I have all their nicknames, their regular names, dog, dogz, dogs and others! What am I thinking when I upload those things???

Thinking Outside of the Box or Bag!

Have I ever told you about how I made use of things differently they they are planned for? Take for instance my absolute favorite overnight bag. I couldn't find what I was looking for in the luggage area, so I started wondering about a store one day. I ended up finding the PERFECT overnight bag that was for fishing! I kid you not. I like that it's durable material, it has extra outside zipped pockets, and looks smashing! You would not know it was for fishing! It's a really nice royal blue and black bag with a grab handle and shoulder strap. The best part is I got it for under $20. I've used that thing for over 3 years and still adore it! It's my favorite overnighter!

When I was trying to find a way to organize my closet for my nail stuff, when I was in manicurist school, I went and found some tool storage boxes and everything fit perfectly. Once again, I was looking for something I had in mind, but it was in the tool section. It had slots for everything, and I was able to get it all in order. When I started skin care school for esthetics, once again, I went digging around, and found containers that helped me keep things together. I had a lot of different products to organize!

Do you think outside "the box"? What do you use differently then it was intended for?

Fashion Forward Buster

beagle.JPG

The ever fashion-forward Buster goes with glow-in-the-dark green contacts for the new school year. What will you be wearing on your first day?

Mesh Band, But It's Metal

Do you know that I spent the last year looking to replace the watch band on my watch. I finally found one I like, and now I'm thinking about replacing my watch! Im a woman, and that's how we are, what can I tell you?

Anyway, I'm not really sure what I want yet. I do really like one of the Skagen watches I found, but I don't want a metal band, though the metal mesh band on the one watch is really cool. If you go to  Skagen watches, and check out model 107SSSBD, that's the one I like.

I wear a Timex day to day, and have a beautiful Movado I wear when I go out for dinner and stuff, but I'm looking for a day to day watch that's a tad dressier then the sporty version I currently wear. I'm not buying anything yet, until I'm positive. I mean, I liked a Baby G watch for about 2 weeks, then I didn't want it anymore. I don't want to buy something if I'm not going to love it for awhile!

Yes! Reality Has Slapped Me Hard

Yes, it's obvious...I'm getting older. I was over looking at this cool bra that's a little different and sexy. They have open tip bras that are only the straps and support, but leave the entire cup part open. Sure, here I am thinking, cool, a neat little surprise for my husband, but then I read the description. This bra is best for breasts that have some firmness. I just laughed out loud! Ha, I'm 40, had two kids, breast fed, and those days are long gone! Man, how I miss those 19 year old firm D breasts! They are a dream of my past! I guess I'll be passing up on that bra, but I'm not done looking at the others!

Football! What Team Are You Sporting?

I'm an Eagles fan, and my husband is a Jets fan. (boo, no accounting for taste). Don't even ask if I like the Giants. I grew up in a Philly suburb, so you all ready know the answer to that one!

Half and Half

halfandhalf

Hey! I just took this side-by-side picture earlier this afternoon for a Squidoo lens on natural mineral make-up! I thought I'd post it up here in case you've wondered about mineral make-up. I have Rosacea, and one of the things I love is how it covers up the red so easily. If you want to know more about mineral make up, check out my Squidoo lens here. (Natural Mineral Make Up) On a side note, growing my hair out into a bob....

It's That Time of Year Again

It's that time of year again! Is this not the coolest costume?

I was over at CostumeCauldron.com looking at Halloween costumes. I was psyched when I saw they have plus sizes. Hey, I need costumes too! They have a nice selection of costumes! I first only saw two, becuase I didn't choose women or men, just plus size, but then I saw them, like a light shining brightly, angels singing, yes, we carry sizes for you too! I want to be this sexy chick! Okay, so the thigh high boots probably won't zip up past my calves, but hey, I can try! Okay, so it doesn't come with the boots, but I can take the prisoner outfit, we can stay home, instead of going out and....oh never mind. We don't need a holiday for that!

Okay, where was I? CostumeCauldron.com has a huge assortment of costumes. I like that you can shop by price, style, or type.

Maybe I'll get the Tootsie Pop one! Actually, they have accessories and everything. I like the giant banana accessory. They also have books, videos, The couple costumes are hysterical. Did you check out the plug one yet?

Having kids we've been through a lot of costumes, but I think one of the things I'll remember most is one year my son tripped and fell into somebody's KOI pond! Oh my gosh, as soon as we knew he was okay, we were laughing so hard. We felt bad about the candy, but here's this little kid going, "The fish were nibbling on me!" Don't worry, we replaced the candy he had collected. It got soaked! It was a Halloween to remember.

We've trick-or-treated in rainy weather, warm weather and freezing cold weather. Here's hoping this year's weather cooperates! Don't forget to get all your Halloween needs at CostumeCauldron.com. I even know a secret Haunted House backdoor entrance where you can save; just follow these directions. Go to their homepage, and go about halfway down the page. There's a comma in the sentence "Our Store now has over 14,000 masquerade items for you to choose from!" Click on it and save money!

Change is Keeping Me Busy in August

I've been blogging for awhile now, actually well over a year. I started on Blogger and still have two blogs over there. When you get into a stride, you sometimes forget what starting over is, and the building process.

I decided in August I was going to do some new things. I went over to my SkinCareStudent.com site, and decided I wanted to try to change the style to a crisp, white background and change how it feels. I'm happy with the result for now, but I like change, so who knows if it changes again in the future. I hope to add more to the shop a little later, but for now, it's been renovated.

I just changed this template, changed the template on my health blog, and I'm about to change it on one of my other blogs. I'm in shape-shifting mode! LOL

I also took on some other marketing projects. This is something I've played with a little bit before, but this time, I've put about 2 weeks worth of time investment in this project, and I'm dedicating another week to it. I'm hoping to expand my reach, and learn new things in the process.

Looking around here, I do like the new colors- they make me happy! Look for me to shake things up on another one of my blogs soon! I'll clue you in when I'm finished!

Moonlight Kennels

cutie.jpg

All together now, awwwwww! Is this not the cutest little puppy? This is a Miniature Schnauzer. Over at Moonlight Kennels, they raise and sell Miniature Schnauzers, Yorkshire Terriers, and teacup Yorkies. This sweet baby is one of the Schnauzer puppies for sale. I have pleaded and begged in the past to add another dog to our family, but my husband says two dogs and a cat are enough. Hmmmph! I don't think so, there's always more love to go around! This has to be one of the sweetest little puppies I've seen! Oh honey, how about just one more?

If you're looking to add another member to your family, consider puppies at Moonlight Kennels. They offer guarantees, information on their site, testimonials and more. They even offer free neutering on request. Go to their "What's Included" page for more details on what all is included when you purchase a puppy from their kennels.

There's a little salt and pepper boy over there I'm just in love with! He's one of Mosha's. Too sweet!

ShoreGrocer.com Delivers Groceries on LBI

I'm not sure if I mentioned the deli counter wait when we were down the shore or not. When we went to LBI in June, it was about 3 people thick at the deli counter the day we went grocery shopping. It was like happy hour for cheese or something! Anyway, a cool service I read about after I got back home, and a pamphlet I'm saving for next year is all about grocery delivery!

ShoreGrocer.com offers grocery delivery on Long Beach Island. You can place your order on their site, and then JP Grocers brings them to your beach rental the day you arrive. One less chore to do, and one less thing the kids will be complaining about.

I think it's an excellent idea. I was just cleaning my desk, and the little pamphlet got buried. I had wanted to write about it earlier, but it slipped my mind, then when I saw it again, I knew I had to mention this!

A great big thumbs up for this handy service, from an LBI vacationer! I can't wait to use it next year.

Orlando Bound

DIS9A.GIF

This was taken on our last visit to Walt Disney World. You can find this at MGM Studios. I went in February with my husband this year, and this week I just booked a trip with my son for November. We're excited and looking forward to return. This will be the third time my son and I have gone to Orlando together, and we're always looking for some interesting things to do.

I just learned about RealTravel.com, a site that offers a travel blog, travel guides and a planner, and decided to check out their section on Orlando, Florida. I can check reviews of hotels, restaurants, attractions and more.

I was reading a review of Wilderness Lodge. We've stayed on site before, but I like to check out all the hotels. You can read about this hotel and others on the website. Dont' forget to check out the travel blog too.  What I'm really looking forward to going through though are the restaurant reviews. One of our favorites closed last year, so we're looking for a new favorite place to eat. Three restaurants were rated four stars, so they are definitely going on my list to check out.

I also ended up learning about a site I'd never heard of! Cool stuff on their site, from people who have been there with reviews. Those are the kind of  things I want to see, a travel blog, travel guide, and planner reviews from people who've experience things.

Where are you going?

Aquafina Skin Care Products???

aquafina.png

I kid you not, Aquafina, the bottled water, now has skin care products you can find at Walmart. I was flipping through a magazine, and when I saw this ad, I thought it was a clever advertising campaign for how "water is good for your skin"....I was wrong.

They have literally come out with Aquafina Skin Care! (AquafinaSkinCare.com)

I looked at the fne print, to make sure it wasn't some sort of play on words, and what's amusing to me is in the fine print it says: what their slogans are, and then, "trademarks of PepsiCo Inc."

WOW! That Was Fast

I just got a delivery. It was tickets for my transportation! I only ordered them yesterday, but wow, that was super lightning speed fast. My son goes, "They got here all ready?!"

Yeah, that's how I felt. When something is going to be mailed to you, but it doesn't say it's being "overnighted", I don't expect to see it right away.

How exciting!!!!!

Start Saving Money

I've found in the last year or two, I've really started shopping smarter. With different shopping comparison sites, I've been finding some really good deals. If I'm looking for someting in particular, I type in what I want, and I get different prices. One place I like a lot is Mpire.com.

Say I'm looking for a laptop bag, I just put the key phrase in the search box. It then finds all different laptop bags. I can then define my search with tigher parameters, with things like price, brand, features and material. If I want nylon bags, or leather bags, I just choose that option. If I want to stay under $100 dollars, I just choose my price range. I just tightened my search to backpack units between $40 to $50 dollars. With clsoe to 400 to choose from, I'm going to narrow it down again by material. I decided I want nylon, because it holds up to a lot, and now I've narrowed it to 12 choices. That makes it easier to find what I want. Okay, found the one I like, and it shows me where it's at! The particular bag I chose, says I'll find the best price at one certain store. It's a big name store, so I'm comfortable buying it through there.

I love how I've now found exactly what I am looking for, at a great price, in less than a few minutes of time. If you haven't tried out Mpire.com yet, check it out. You could be saving money!

Booked Disney Trip in November

mick1.gif

We booked our trip! It's official, we'll be heading to Disney in November this year. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the warm Florida sun when it's getting cooler here.

My son and I had some specific things we wanted to do, and decided not to do one or two things we had thought about. Now that we hammered out all the details, I was able to nail down the dates, the things we want to do, and where we wanted to stay this trip.

I've done a lot of Disney traveling the last year and a half, but this 4th trip may be my final trip for a while. I know, I know, I've said that before, but a break will make it special again when we do go back.

Either way, this is how I feel...Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Custom Golf Carts in Hunterdon County

I was working on a Squidoo lens about womens golf clubs last week. Anyway, my husband was reading our litle local paper and saw an article about custom golf carts and pulled it out for me. I thought it was cool because it's right here in Hunderton County.

Jersey Carts, owned by Greg Merrigan has reconditioned golf cards. He has a showroom in Flemington on Route 31 in Speedway Plaza. Now I know why I keep seeing golf carts when I drive by there! I think Speedway Plaza is across from KFC. If you're looking for a custom golf car, check it out. I'm not sure if he has a website yet, but the number for more information or directions is at 908-806-6400. (Jersey Carts) EDIT: Just found the website! Jersey Carts

Good luck on your business from a fellow Hunterdon County resident.

Pack Your Bags!

It's time to get the luggage ready. I'm booking Disney this week. We'll be heading down in November. I'm excited, because I'm going to do it with my son this week. He knows there's a slight chance we may do Disney this year, but probably next year. Well guess what baby? We're booking it this week, and I'm going to let him in on the little secret! I've finally got all the details that I wanted to figure out taken care of.

I'm booking some early fall beach time with my hubby too this week, so I'll be in travel thought mode all week!

Hotels, Condos or Both?

Last year when we went to Wildwood, one of the things we noticed was a lot of the hotels were turning into Condo Hotels. It seems to be the trend down there, as well as a lot of other places. It's weird, you can still book it like a hotel, but the rooms are individually owned. I think it was the El Coronado that was like that last year. This year's hotel was more of a traditional hotel.

Have you noticed that trend in the areas you vacation? I know that down Long Beach Island, our regular place to visit, they haven't switched to condo hotels yet at our regular places.

When Will I Learn?

I've learned my lesson! I won't eat that combination of food again. It was like having a professional colon cleanse in moments! ACK! Too much information? Just knowt that I feel better! Seriously, you'd think I'd know that too much sugar is not good for my system. When I overdo it, I always pay. I'm not some little kid who hasn't learned a lesson, but I'm a grown woman who has to repeat the dang lesson over and over again. When do I finally learn?

Middle Name Game

My brain has been in overdrive! I've got so many projects on my plate, but I like the variety. Anyway, I was reading some stuff and saw that I had been tagged for a meme by my friend Nellie.  I got the chance to meet  Nellie in person  this year, and she's  as sweet as can be.  Anyway, as part of the meme, I'm supposed to use my middle name, and using each letter, describe something about me. I have a nice short middle name, so it shouldn't be too tough!

A- animated

N- no patience

N- neurotic :P

E- excitable

Ah, and you thought I was just this normal, sweet girl! LOL I'm a little bit crazy, a little bit sensible...a little bit warm, and a little bit distant. I'm a little bit this and a lot of Gemini! ;)

I'm supposed to tag others, but I'm also a little bit of a rebel and decided not to. Dont' worry, I'll sleep just fine.

A New Look for Surviving NJ

I thought it was time to freshen things up a little. I'm an upbeat and happy type of person, and I thought this reflected my personality a little better. I may still tinker with the color a little, I think this is what I'll be playing with for awhile.

It's the same Surviving NJ with some bright, bold colors to go along with it. If you're in Firefox (like I use mostly), I'm happy with the font size. As for IE, the fonts really big and bold. I guess I'll have to change it somehow. I think it's changing it from font to .em stuff. I'm not really up on that stuff. I have to tell you,  I miss my simple html! LOL

Either way, here we are...fresh new look, same Surviving NJ content.

Cheers! Deb

DodgeBlogium and the SUPERBOWL

I happened upon a coincidence today. I was over doing some social networking, and recognized one of my fellow bloggers! Apparently he's trying to win an awesome prize. I'm not talking sort of awesome, I'm talking mega awesome. Are you ready for this? He's up for a spot in a commercial during the SUPERBOWL!

You can check out his blog over at DodgeBlogium over at AndrewIanDodge.com.  After you read about the contest there, make sure you head over to Fuel My Blog and vote for Andrew. You can even vote daily, but only once a day.

This is big! Get over there and vote, and help him get fueled to the top. Good luck Andrew.

Wildwood Happenings and Events

Since I just got back from Wildwood last week, I thought I'd update you on the going-ons for the rest of the month, in case you were thinking of heading down.

This week there's a toy, sports card, and comic book show at the convention center. It's going to be running all weekend. There's a boardwalk craft show, south of the convention center.

There's a triathalon going on August 25 in North Wildwood.

August 26th offers a block party and festival at Fox Park.

I'm Making Money Online, Are You?

bills.jpg

I'm home today and earning money. I work from home. I do freelance writing, along with other things. One of the new things I started doing was playing with HubPages. They are similar to Squidoo lens, but there are a lot of great untapped topics available. I have pages on both sites, and it's so easy to create the pages. Both Squidoo and HubPages have simple modules you use, so you don't need to know how to build web pages. They take the work out of it and simply the process. You can add in Amazon modules, affiliate codes, Ebay modules and more. It's free to create sites, and you can earn income!

I have a couple of lens on Squidoo, and I'm also building them on HubPages. I hope to have them all complete by the end of September. I'm taking my time so I can do a good job on each page! I have a bunch planned! What are you doing?

If you'd like to see what a Squidoo lens looks like, or a hub on HubPages, you can compare them both. I did the topic of Womens Golf Clubs on both sites. You can check them both out, and start coming up with your own ideas!

Here's my Squidoo Lens on Womens Golf Clubs

Here's my HubPages hub on Womens Golf Clubs

What do you want to create?

Wildwood Boardwalk from the Crest

boardwalk3.JPG

We stayed at the Nassau Inn on Sweetbriar. I loved that it was walking distance to the boardwalk, but was still beyond the boardwalk. I didn't want to be right in the middle of it, so being at a quieter end suits me well. It was about 12 blocks to the boardwalk, andyou can see the big concrete sidewalk perfect for bikes and walking! It was well used while we were there. These shots were taken from our hotel balcony.

I guess I didn't stay steady as this next one processed! I love the result though...
