Nervous Waiting for Mortgage Approvals
I remember the first time I applied for a mortgage. I was so nervous, because being your first home, you don't know what's going to end up happening.
I would frantically pop in our numbers in a mortgage calculator and while it seemed like it should work out, I still was at the mercy of the financing industry to decide if I could buy a house. We had successfully gotten and paid off secured loans before, but this time it was a home I was hoping to get! The good news is it went through without a problem, and before we knew it, we were watching our home being built. I think waiting for mortgages, is one of the most stressful times ever! I'm not sure how easy they are for everyone else to get, but we were a new family starting out and we had been renting long enough. My two boys were growing fast, and I was ready to spread out a little bit and finally get a home of our own. It was an exciting time to watch the home being built, and knowing that we'd be moving in soon enough. I'm divorced and remarried now, but my boys live with their father in that same house. It's a place they call home, and I'm happy to know it's a great home for them. The neat thing is when I see it, I know that I picked out the cabinets, tiles, carpets and all the other little details that are there! I now have a friend going through the home hunting process, and I wish her all the best of luck in getting their mortgage approved! This post was brought to you by ThriftyScot.co.uk
